AARATII YUGALA KISHORA KII KIIJAI|
TANA MANA DHANA NYOCHAAVARA KIIJAI||

Let us chorus this prayer and wave lights to the two adolescents, Radha and Krishna and offer our body mind and all our riches (to win their gracious favour).

RAVI SHASHI KOTI VADANA KII SHOBHAA|
TAAHI NIRAKHA MERAA MANA LOBHAA||

When I look at them, my mind is enamoured of the beauty of their faces which matches that of a myriad of suns and Moons.

GAURA SHYAAMA MUKHA NIRAKHATA RIIJHAI|
PRABHU KO RUUPA NAYANA BHARA PIJAI||

When one beholds the two faces, one fair and the other dark, one is instantly fascinated. The poet calls upon all to satiate their eyes with the beauty of the Lord’s countenance.

KANNCHANA THAARA KAPUURA KII BAATII|
HARI AAYE NIRMALA BAHII CHAATII||

Wave the golden platter with camphor burning in it before the Lord who, manifesting himself, cleanses the heart of all its impurities.

PHUULANA KII SEJA PHUULANA KII MAALAA|
RATNA SINHAASANA BAITHE NANDALAALAA||

The Lord, the beloved son of Nanda, sleeps on a couch of flowers and wears a wreath of blossoms. He has ensconced himself on a throne made of gems.

MORA UKUTA KARA MURALII SOHAI|
NATAVARA VESHA DEKHA MANA MOHAI||

A crown of peacock feathers on his head and a flute in his hand are the adornments of this showman whose appearance fascinates the mind.

ANGA NIILA PIITA PATA SAARII|
KUNJA BIHAARII GIRAVARADHAARII||

The body of the Lord, a dawdler in bowers and groves and upholder of a great mountain, is all blue and yellow silken are his clothes.

SHRI PURUSHOTTAMA GIRIVARA DHAARII|
AARATII KARATA SAKALA VRAJANAARII||

Every woman of Vraja, who adores him with festal lights, sings of Lord Krishna, the upholder of the best of mountains and supreme amongst men.

Inseparable says Swami Paramananda, is the company of Krishna, delight of Nanda and Radha, the youthful daughter of Vrushabhanu.

Descending to the nether regions, you broke open the prison-gates of Yama and pulled Ahiravana’s arms apart.

Gods, humans, sages and devotees chant your Aarti and glorify you again and again.

In a golden platter with camphor placed beautifully in it, your mother, Anjani, waves the lustral lamp round you and hymns your praises.

BASI VAIKUNTHA PARAMA PADA PAAVE

He who hymns Hanuman’s Aarti (or performs the last ceremony with waving of lights around him) goes straight to Vaikuntha (the celestial abode of Rama) and attains salvation.

"Glory to you, O Mother, glory to you, mother Lakshmi. Shiva, Vishnu
and Brahma meditate on you everyday and night."

Brahmaanii, rudraanii, kamalaa, Tuuhii hai jaga maataa
Suurya chandramaa dhyaavata, Naarada rishi gaataa

"You are yourself the consort of Brahma, Rudra and Vishnu and the
mother of the world. The sage Narada sings your praises and the Sun
and the Moon meditate on you."

Durgaa ruupa nirantara, sukha sampati daataa
Jo koi tumako dhyaavata, riddhi siddhi dhana paataa

"As Durga, you grant both happiness and prosperity; and he who
centres his attention on you becomes a recipient of all riddhis and

"None but you dwell in the nether regions of the earth and you alone
ensure good luck, bring to light the effect of Karma (action) and
protect all worldly treasures."

Kara sake koii kara le, mana nahin ghabaraataa

"All the virtues collect themselves where you have your dwelling ;
with your grace and favour even the impossible becomes possible
without causing any nervous agitation."

Khaana paana kaa vaibhava, Saba tumase hii aataa

"No sacrifice can be performed without you (your grace), no one can
obtain any garment (to cover his body); it is from you that one
obtains one's sustenance (food and drink)."

Ratana chaturdasha tuma hii, Koii nahiin paataa

"O daughter of the Ocean of Milk and the beauteous temple of all
propitious virtues, you are a living mass of all the fourteen gems
with which none else is endowed."
