In Shirdi, after taking Sai Baba's Darshan, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav formally inaugurated the First Direct Train service
between Shirdi & Mumbai by pressing the electronic button at the Sai Nagar Railway station.
He gave Cash awards worth Rs 20 lakh to railway employees for completing the Rs 80 crore project in a record time.
He also presented the cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each to the driver and the guard of the train.

Good to have that train. What is the time table for the trains. i want a train that will reach before 4:30 am.
I go to Shirdi just once in a year on Diwali. I start at the night before diwali in a bus & reach on the Diwali morning. Last 2 years, i have been unsuccesfull in reaching on time. hence missed the aarti. Actualy there are heavy traffic jams in mumbai itself, hence it takes more than 2-3 hours to get out of mumbai itself out of the total travel time of 8 hours.

Direct train to Shirdi from Friday
Devotees of Sai Baba will be able to take a direct train to Shirdi from Friday. On the same day, the foundation for the Shirdi airport would be laid by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. The train will start from Dadar station at 9.45 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. After travelling 455 km to Shirdi, the train will start its return journey at 10 am and reach Dadar by 4 pm the same day. The inaugural train will be flagged off at Shirdi.
The fare will be Rs 531 for air-conditioned class, Rs 131 for sleeper class and Rs 101 for the general class.
On Monday, the state government said the work on the Shirdi airport would start on Friday itself. The 280-acre site for the airport is 15 km from the shrine. The project will cost Rs 260 crore. The airport is expected to start operations by November 2011.

This train will reach Shirdi by 4:00 am in morning, means Kakad Aarti is ours. But still one issue. Diwali is on friday & hence wanted a train on thursday night. Let's see whether Sai baba does some thing special (meaning grace) for this.

- MUMBAI TO SHIRDI NEW DIRECT SUPER-FAST EXPRESS TRAIN -
28th August`2010
From Friday 27th August`2010, a new Super Fast Express Train between Dadar`Mumbai and Sainagar`Shirdi started.
This New Express Train reaches Shirdi from Dadar`Mumbai in just 6 hrs flat with stops only at 6 Stations in-between,
as compared to the Train from CST`Mumbai to Sainagar`Shirdi, which takes around 12hrs to reach Shirdi
with stops at almost 27 Stations in-between.
- Train no.12131 Dadar`Mumbai to Sainagar`Shirdi -
Departure: Dadar`Mumbai at 21:45 hrs every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday.
Arrival: Shirdi at 03:51 hrs the next day.
- Train no.12132 Sainagar`Shirdi to Dadar`Mumbai -
Departure: Shirdi at 10:00 hrs every Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday.
Arrival: Dadar`Mumbai at 16:05 hrs the same day.
This Train will have 18 Coaches:
One Air-conditioned Two-tier
One Air-conditioned Three-tier
Eight Sleeper Class
Six General Second Class
Two Luggage-cum-Brake Vans.
