  • Two boxers are in a boxing match. The fight ends after 6 rounds, after one boxer knocks out the other boxer. Yet no man throws a punch. How is this possible?

  • Answer for above:

    They were female boxers.

    Now, next one

The lift was out of order. I had gone down 6 steps of the last flght of stairs when I saw another resident just starting up the staircase. We greeted each other as we passed and I continued descending without change in pace. I had noticed that for every step I took he was taking two. Consquently when he had reached the top I still had four steps to go.
How many steps were there in the staircase?

Twenty. Since the time he ascended the stairs I covered I covered all but ten of them (six at top and 4 at bottom) and I was 50 percent slower, it means there were 2 * 10, 20 steps in the staircase.

    1.   Pearl
    2.   Pear
    3.   Ear

    Guess Who am I

I am a 7 -letter animal. If you cut the last 3 letters of that animal, men wear it.
If you cut last 4 letters of that animal, women use it for cooking.
If you cut the first 4 letters of that animal, it is a way you call a female. Who am I?

    Guess the Time

While staying at my uncle’s house I noticed that there were three clocks in the bedroom but they all showed different times. One showed 9:05, another 8:15 and the third 8:35.
When I asked my cousin who was brushing his teeth, the correct time, he shouted from the bathroom, “One of the clocks is 20 minutes fast, one is slow and one is wrong by 30 minutes.”
It did not take me long to work out the correct time. What was it?

    Think it out

A man fell overboard from a ship in the middle of the sea. He neither swam nor sank. How could that be?

  • Circular Boomerang

A boy asked his father what a boomerang was, so his father showed him a picture of a boomerang and explained that it was a weapon used by the Aborigines of Australia. “They throw it in such a way that it returns to them if it fails to hit the target,” he explained.
“I can do that with a coin,” said the boy. “I mean, I can make it return to me after being thrown.”
“I would like to see you do that,” said his father. “In my opinion, once money leaves one’s hand it never returns.”
But the boy proved him wrong. How?

He threw the coin straight up and as everything that goes up has to come down, it returned to him.

    How many streetlights?

There are 45 streetlights in all, on a stretch of road, some on one side of the street, some on the other. Each streetlight is at a distance of 30 m from its neighbour. The streetlights on one side
are arranged in such a way that each lamp fills a gap between two other streetlights on the opposite side of the road.
How long is the stretch of road?

  • Answer to above:

660 m. There are 23 lights on one side of the street and 22 on the other. As there are 22 gaps between 23 lamps,  the length of the road is 22 times 30 m long, or 660 m.

    No money but happy

A young man received a letter. On opening the letter he found a stamped envelope inside. There was a letter in the envelope. The letter said, "Here is the 50,000 rupees I promised you. Best regards, Dad."
There was no cash or cheque but the man danced with joy and phoned his father to thank him.
Why was the man so happy?
