  • The White Crow

One day, a crow was flying over a village, looking for something to eat. After flying for a long time, he got tried and sat on a wall. Suddenly, a thunderbolt made him loose his balance. He slipped into the courtyard of a painter’s house and fell into a container that had while lime. Somehow, he managed to fly out of that container and reached a pond.

Suddenly the crow saw his reflection and was amazed to see his white colour. He realized that now he was a white crow. This made the crow proud. He flew back to the jungle and presented himself as the new king. Since all the birds were in awe of the white crow, they accepted him as the king and started serving him. One day, it rained heavily. All the crows sought shelter in a large banyan tree. The white crow also went there. However, when the rain stopped, the white crow realized that all the black crows were looking at him. The rain had washed away his white colour. Within minutes, the black crows attacked the white crow with their beaks and drew him out of the jungle.

  • Once there lived a young and handsome prince near Denmark...

Once there lived a young and handsome prince near Denmark. On a fine summer morning, he took his horse, Blacky for a ride. His favourite horse was unwell. As the prince proceeded up the mountains, there was a sudden, strange noise. The noise startled Blacky so much that he threw the Prince to the ground. As the prince looked up, he saw a large, angry lion in front of him. Blacky ran off, leaving the Prince unable to move from where he fell. He ran back to the stable. Seeing Blacky back without his master, Roger, the Prince’s favourite horse, got alarmed.

A rescue crew was sent to the mountains immediately. Roger got up in fever to save his master.

On reaching there, Roger galloped toward the fallen Prince. The Prince quickly jumped upon Roger and rode safely away from the lion. The horse took good care of his master, even in fever, due to his affection for him.

  • Once a mouse was wandering from one street to the other in search of shelter...

Once a mouse was wandering from one street to the other in search of shelter. Suddenly, a cat appeared before him and started threatening him. The mouse got scared and ran into a nearby hut.

A saint was meditating in the hut. The mouse told the saint how he had escaped from a cat. Full of compassion, the saint turned the mouse into a dog. The mouse went out with his head held high, as now he was a dog. He went into a jungle. He was happy with his new appearance. However, soon he was chased back to the hut, as a lion started following him. The saint heard the mouse’s story and this time he turned him into a lion.

The mouse than went back to the jungle and defeated the lion who had chased him back to the hut. He spent a month in the jungle and enjoyed his time there. One day, he realized that now since he was so powerful, he could easily kill the saint and eat him. With this thought, he went back to the saint. The saint knew what the mouse was thinking. Using his magical powers, he turned the lion into mouse once again.

The mouse was punished, as he thought of misusing his power!
