Bangalore : In every field, there are genuines and there are fakes. But it is important to separate the godmen’s private and public lives.
The question every follower must ask is: Has this guru helped me when I most needed guidance?

Every person in public life has a part of him/her that is kept extremely private.
But it is their work in the public sphere that should truly concern us.
When we follow this rule with every other profession, why should that of a spiritual teacher be any different?
Ultimately, what the followers must see is if he/she has benefited from the guru.
If he is a happier person today than he was before meeting the guru, then little else should matter.

Modern man cannot do without spirituality. There is no other source for inner peace. Everything else is short-lived.
When you watch a movie to get your mind off stress, you are relieved for a mere three hours.
What next? For sustained peace, one needs to turn inward. One can attain peace and mental calm with the help of a guru only.
One, however, needs a genuine guru to guide and take him to a higher level of understanding.
If you have a guru to guide and motivate you, you can get on to the right track to peace and happiness.

When a guru is seen not practicing what he has been preaching, it sure is disappointing.
It shatters the faith placed in the guru. It affects the common man, demotivating him and making him
sceptical about every potential guru in future. But one should have the faith and courage to break out of one bad experience.

All of spirituality cannot be labelled due to one bad guru. All gurus are not the same.
Look at it practically, it happens to people from all walks of life, all the time. Anger and frustration are not ways to deal with it.

Time is the best healer. People need to realise this. When a guru has done something you disapprove of,
treat it just as a failed relationship, heal and grow out of it.

There is no point in harbouring ill feelings. A bad experience should not stop your spiritual journey seeking the truth.
There is always something better in store for you when you learn not to classify everything as good or bad.

My Guru tells me : "IF I AM NOT MEANT TO BE YOUR GURU, UNIVERSAL FORCES WILL STOP ME FROM BEING YOUR GURU.
THERE WILL BE SOME OTHER GURU FOR YOU."
