"help people desist from evil practices"

There was a  Sai devotee named Sambhare.

Once, when he came for Baba's darshan, Baba said, "Child, you must give up drinking.

I do not like it at all. If you don't leave it, I will leave you to your fate.

What do you say?" Thenceforth he gave up drinking.

Baba not only advised people to desist evil practices.

He even stopped and protected them when need arised.

Once Sambhare's officer forced him to drink during a party.

Sambhare prayed to Baba, "Baba, You alone can help me now.

" Immediately there was a black out. His friend knew that Sambhare

wouldn't drink, so he drank from Sambhare's glass.

Immediately the power came back and the officer was happy

seeing an empty glass front of Sambhare and assumed

that he drank it. Thus with Baba's grace, Sambhare was

protected.
