The birthday celebration of your child should be later on and should be done by others and not by the parents and relatives. When this child grows and does some permanent benefit to the society, its birthday is celebrated by the society. Shri Rama Navami, Shri Krishna Ashtami, Shankara Jayanthi, Buddha Purnima, Christmas etc. are performed by the society. You should not celebrate your own birthday, which will be like self-praise. Similarly, you should not celebrate the birthday of your child which is like praising your own child. I do not understand why the parents celebrate the birthday of their child.

What is the greatness of the child that is expressed in the childhood itself? Or, is it for the great act of producing a child? Even animals and birds produce children. The parents should get the real happiness of the celebration of the birthday of their child by the society in future. If this angle does not exist, you can celebrate the birthday of the child in the angle of real worship to God and getting blessings from the real devotees. One of these two angles should be present in the birthday celebrations.

u r luking from a particular view point and saying bday needs not to be celebrated by an ordinary person......... but try to look at oder angles 2...........

    1. Few people celebrates their bday to enjoy atleast on a single day.. heartedly..... by meeting friends relatives.......... as on normal days nobody is free to talk.. u know busy world busy lives everywhere..........

    2. Few people celebrates their bday so that they can learn they have grown such older and life end will be soon and their past was not so pleasant so they shud learn from dis very day.. as a positive starting......

    3. Few people even do comitments on their bday like to do a gud thing on regular patern for wich they even promises to god.....

bdays shud be celebrated even by d society or wid relatives.. but one shud regularly wishes himself on dis day to realise how prety child of sai he is............. to realis wat wrongs did by him has made him ugly....... everyone has his own viewpoint.. may be u r rite.. but i tried to look at dis angle too..... hop u wil understand............. god bles u...............

Ideally one should not celibrate ones own birth day. Others should celibrate your birth day due to your service to God remembering your contribution to God's service. If you celibrate your birth day by yourself it is a self projection!

Others should celibrate your birth day like , Krishna Jayanti, Christmas etc etc in which Krishna, Jesus etc were remembered for their contribution for God's work and service in this world.
