Title: GURU POORNIMA
Post by: SS91 on January 13, 2005, 07:16:10 AM
When was the first Guru Poornima celebrated at Shirdi?

The full moon day of the Ashada month of the Lunar Calendar is

celebrated as Guru Poornima. This normally falls in the month of

July. Sri Noolkar passed away in 1911 in March. So he must have died

before the Guru Poornima of 1911. He had visited Shirdi for the

first time in 1909. He had participated in only one Guru Poornima.

Perhaps it was his first and last Guru Poornima at Shirdi. The Guru

Poornima described by Sri Noolkar in his letter to Nana Saheb

Chandorkar may have therefore been celebrated in 1910.
