    Tomorrow Is Not Promised ~~~

    Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose; teach you a lesson, or help figure out who you are, and who you want to become.

    You never know who these people may be: your neighbor, child, long lost friend, or even a stranger who, when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life, in some profound way.

    And sometimes things happen to you, and at the time they seem painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize, that without overcoming those obstacles, you would have never realized your potential strength, or your hearts desire.

    Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, as well as experiencing sheer stupidity; all occur to test the limits of your soul.

    Without these small tests, whether they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a paved straight flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

    The people you meet who affect your life, and the successes and downfalls you experience, create who you are, and even the bad experiences can be learned from; in fact, they are probably the poignant and important ones.

    If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them; for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart...

    If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love, and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.

    Make every day count. Appreciate every moment, and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again...

    Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high...

    Hold your head up, because you have every right too. Tell yourself you're a great person and believe in yourself... for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either.

    Create your own life and then go out and live in it! "Live Each Day As If It Were Your Last... Tomorrow is Not Promised."

    Jai Sai Ram~~~

    Are You Blessed??

    If you woke up this morning with more health than illness..........you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

    If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation.......you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

    If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

    If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace....... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

    If your parents are still alive and still married........you are very rare, even in the United States.

    If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful.....you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

    If you prayed yesterday and today........you are in the minority because you believe God does hear and answer prayers.

    If you can read now, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

    Be Grateful~~~

    Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

    When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

    The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

    It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

    Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

    May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trails to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to bring you joy.

    Always put yourself in another's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

    The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

    The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't get on well in life until you let go of past failures and heartaches.

    When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

    Believe in Yourself~~~

    There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be.

    That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.

    But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.

    There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.

    Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.

    So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.

    Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

    Keep Believing in Yourself~~~

    Bend, but Don't Break~~~

     One of my fondest memories as a child is going by the river and sitting idly on the bank. There I would enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the water rush downstream, and listen to the chirps of birds and the rustling of leaves in the trees. I would also watch the bamboo trees bend under pressure from the wind and watch them return gracefully to their upright or original position after the wind had died down.

    When I think about the bamboo tree's ability to bounce back or return to it's original position, the word resilience comes to mind. When used in reference to a person this word means the ability to readily recover from shock, depression or any other situation that stretches the limits of a person's emotions.

    Have you ever felt like you are about to snap? Have you ever felt like you are at your breaking point? Thankfully, you have survived the experience to live to talk about it.

    During the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions that threatened your health. You felt emotionally drained, mentally exhausted and you most likely endured unpleasant physical symptoms.

    Life is a mixture of good times and bad times, happy moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that take you close to your breaking point, bend but don't break. Try your best not to let the situation get the best of you.

    A measure of hope will take you through the unpleasant ordeal. With hope for a better tomorrow or a better situation, things may not be as bad as they seem to be. The unpleasant ordeal may be easier to deal with if the end result is worth having.

    If the going gets tough and you are at your breaking point, show resilience. Like the bamboo tree, bend, but don't break!

    If Tomorrow Never Comes~~~

    If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

    If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.

    If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.

    If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming, you would know I do.

    If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away.

    For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right.

    There will always be another day to say our "I love you's", And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?"

    But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget, Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.

    So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today?

    For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to

    grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.

    So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear, Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you" or "it's okay".

    And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today~~~

    God, Forgive Me When I Whine~~~

    Today, upon a bus,
    I saw a girl with golden hair.
    I envied her, she seemed so gay,
    And I wished I was as fair.
    When suddenly she rose to leave,
    I saw her hobble down the aisle.
    She had one leg and used a crutch.
    But as she passed, she gave a smile~~
    Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
    I have 2 legs, the world is mine~~~

    I stopped to buy some candy.
    The lad who sold it had such charm.
    I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
    If I were late, it'd do no harm.
    And as I left, he said to me,
    "I thank you, you've been so kind.
    It's nice to talk with folks like you.
    You see," he said, "I'm blind" ~~
    Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
    I have 2 eyes, the world is mine~~~

    Later while walking down the street,
    I saw a child with eyes of blue.
    He stood and watched the others play.
    He seemed not to know what to do.
    I stopped a moment and then I said,
    "Why don't you join the others dear?"
    He looked ahead without a word.
    And then I knew he couldn't hear~~
    Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
    I have 2 ears, the world is mine~~~

    With feet to take me where I'd go.
    With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
    With ears to hear what I'd know~~
    Oh, God, forgive me when I whine
    I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine~~~

    The hurt of separation~~~

    The hurt of separation is experienced by almost

     everyone at some point in his or her life. As children

     grow up they move away from home and are

    separated from the family.

    Sadly separation may be caused by

    relationships that do not work as in broken

     homes and divorce. Death is one of the

     leading causes of separation.

    Separation is not a one-way street; as I hurt so hurt

    those I am separated from.

    Sin separates us from God!
    Isaiah 59:2

    “But your iniquities have separated between you

    and your God, and your sins have hid His face

    from you, that He will not hear.”

    When I reflect upon the anguish I experience being

    apart from those dear to me, I can begin to know

    how God feels when we, His children are separated

    by our sins from Him. Not only does God suffer,

    we suffer when our sins separate us from our God.

    We know that separation so bothered God that

    He gave His Son, Jesus, to die that the

    separation might be ended.

    Let us remember the pain of separation

    and diligently strive to eliminate its cause

    from our lives!

    Salt, Pepper and the Spices of Life~~~

    *You're sitting at a table , having a meal with some friends .
    Bowls of soup are served to everyone at the table. Before tasting the soup , the person next to you reaches for the salt and pepper, and for the next 20 seconds vigorously shakes into the soup more salt and pepper than you would use in a month .

    You have a pained look on your face. These thoughts immediately go through your mind : " Why would you put salt and pepper in soup , or on any dish , BEFORE you taste it ? How do you know how much to add ? " You might also think , " How can someone put so much salt and pepper in their food ? "

    Of course , the roles could be reversed. You might be the one who loves to put a lot of salt and pepper on your food and the person next to you eats the soup without adding salt or pepper. In that case , you think , " How can she eat this bland soup without putting any seasoning in it ?"

    When it comes to salt , pepper, onions , garlic , curry or just about any type of seasoning , we tend to see things only one way - OUR way. It's hard for us to understand how someone could enjoy food when it is not seasoned as we think is appropriate. We cringe when we see someone " overdoing " or " under-doing " the spices .

    How we season our food is a matter of preference and personal taste. There is no right or wrong way to use seasonings. Furthermore , the way in which another applies salt and pepper does not affect us in any way. They're not putting the salt and pepper in YOUR soup. They are putting the spices in their own soup .

    Our world is so diverse , and yet it is difficult for us to accept each other's preferences. Often , when we see people doing things we wouldn't do , our mind says :

    Why aren't they thinking as I think ?

    Why aren't they acting as I would act ?

    Your mind would often have you believe that your way is superior. Your beliefs and habits are shaped by your genetics and your environment. Each person has different genetics and has grown up in an environment that is different than yours. Why expect everyone to come to the same conclusion ?

    Our spiritual growth comes when we learn to accept that others have different preferences , and we honor those preferences. There is no universal religion that everyone will agree to practice. There is no universal political viewpoint that all will accept . There is no one way of raising children that all cultures will agree upon . Marriage customs will vary from culture to culture .

    Getting people to agree on these issues is like trying to get everyone to use the same amount of salt and pepper on their food . It's not going to happen .

    The diversity in this world is beautiful and we can open our hearts to it . Within our own country and in our relations with people in other countries , we need to continually remind ourselves that it's perfectly acceptable for people to have preferences. If the other person is not harming us , why can't we just smile and get on with life ?

    The next time you're tempted to judge or criticize the way other people think or act , realize that in most cases , they're just using a different amount of salt or pepper than you would use . Allow them to have their preferences , and there is no need to even consider what YOU would do .

    Jai Sai Ram~~~

    You Can Not Change The Past~~~

    Some times there are no answers
    To the questions that come to mind
    If we ever come to wonder
    Why we walked this way in life~~~

    Then there comes a subtle change
    Steady but for sure.
    Lives are still evolving.
    Another chance has it's allure~~~

    But it seems the days are counted
    There's much history in your past.
    Intertwining lives
    With ties that ever last~~~

    And during the preparation
    It feels so upside down.
    You can not stop the process
    But hope it all turns out~~~

    And when the shadows linger
    Clouds are filled with rain
    You've done the best of living
    Look at what you've gained~~~

    You can not change the past,
    Or where you started from.
    But you can be the wiser
    To learn from what is done~~~

    Hope is such a marvelous thing~~~

    It bends, it twists, it sometimes hides, but rarely does it break.
    It sustains us when nothing else can. It gives us reason to continue and courage to move ahead, when we tell ourselves we'd rather give in.

    If you can look to the past and smile, then you still have hope. Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart cannot manage. Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes cannot see it. Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused of the direction.

    Hope is a wonderful thing, something to be cherished and nurtured, and something that will refresh us in return. And it can be found in each of us, and it can bring light into the darkest of places.

    ~~~Never lose hope~~~
    THIS IS HOW WE MISS OUT SOMETHING CALLED "LIFE"~~~
    A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.
    QUESTIONS~~~
    1. What were the five words ?
    2. What is the implication of this story?
    ANSWER ~~~
    The husband just said "I am with you Darling"
    The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.
    If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.
    MORAL OF THE STORY~~~
    This story is really worth reading. ..... Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship,in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out something called L.I.F.E
