Ultimate faith in the divine will

  • Why do we pray? Some want health, others wealth. Some pray for the longevity of their parents, the safety of their children or that some other desire of theirs gets fulfilled. These prayers, like all others, have power and energy that bring them to life.

The only difference between a prayer and a desire is that a prayer is directed towards God with faith. Faith plays an important role in whether the prayer is answered or not. But do we always know what is best for us?

Suppose there is a new video game in town that every child wants. But this game is not without its dangers - it has gore, violence and profanity and might not be in the best interest of the child. But the child still wants it and repeatedly asks his parents for it. They may refuse a few times, but chances are that after a while, may give in to their child's demands. Not all parents will give in, but some will. So, the child's 'prayer' was ultimately answered by faith and perseverance. But is the video game good for the child?

We ask God for things that we want, but are those things always the best for our spiritual growth? As the saying goes, 'be careful of what you wish for, because you might get it'. We may be intensely praying for things or relationships that may not be good for us. But the intensity of our prayers creates a vibratory ripple in the Cosmos that will have its answer, its result - the fruit of the desire seed. This is why it is important for our spiritual growth to let God decide what is best for us.

When Jesus Christ was in the Garden of Gethsemane on the eve of his crucifixion, he knew the fate he would suffer the next day. Though he was divine in nature, he was also in human form and naturally did not want to die. So, in Luke 22:42, we learn that he said the following prayer: "Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my Will, but Thine, be done." Christ put God's will above his own. "Thy Will be done" is also part of the Lord's Prayer. This is the essence of faith in its truest and purest form.

Putting everything into God's hands and saying simply, "Let Thy Will be done" requires a tremendous amount of courage. It requires a lot of faith. Because somewhere deep down inside your heart and mind, you wish and hope that the Lord's Will coincides with your own. But true and pure faith knows (not believes, because believing is not being entirely sure) that the Will of God is best for you. That is true faith. Like in the case of Christ, if he had not died on the cross, he would not have therefore been glorified through resurrection and thus his mission would not have been accomplished. So, his will in this case, would not have been the best for him. God knew what was best and since Christ said, "Let Thy will be done", it was done.

At the same time it is fine to put your request before the Lord like Christ did when he said, "If Thou be willing, remove this cup from me." So you can ask God - "If Thou Art be willing then let Thy Will be done, not mine." This prayer - if said with utmost faith and sincerity and with the knowledge that God loves you and will do whatever is in your best interest - will yield the sweetest fruit.

  •                                                 Why God Gives US Problems

    1. God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways.

    2. God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags ... if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God ever tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you?"When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience".

    3. God uses problems to CORRECT you. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something ... health, money, a relationship... by losing it. "It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws."

    4. God uses problems to PROTECT you. A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem, but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered."You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good."

    5. God uses problems to PERFECT you. Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than our comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity. "We can rejoice when we run into problems ... they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady."

Here's the point: God is at work in your life even when you do not recognize it or understand it. But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him!

  • Oh my Sai, why i forget to remember all these points in my own life.

Why i always blame YOU, whenever i'm in any problem. Why i always say that its bcoz of you only iam facing this problem. But in reality its not you actually, its only ME who is responsible for all the causes of my problems.

I know this thing very well that "AS YOU SOW, SO SHALL YOU REAP". I'm sure that i must have done something wrong in my life, now be it in a previous janam or this janam, coz of which now i'm facing problems in my life.

But the main problem is that i forget to keep this basic n simple funda in my mind at that particular point of time and just start blaming you without any reason which is not good at all. If i can't follow any of your teachings then i dont have a right to blame you as well.....

Even after knowing this basic n simple funda, i fail to put it into a practice in my day-to-day life. I beleive that theory or knowledge is of no use until n unless i follow it in my personal life. I know that iam doing a big mistake and i dont even want to give any excuse for it like i'm a human being and to err is human. NOOO.........it shouldn't be like that....right Sai?

In this life we have been blessed by a human body and brain, so what's the use of it. The basic purpose of this life is to realize our mistakes which we have commited in our previous and this janam and then work upon it accordingly. And look what im doing with my life (anger, jealousy, office politics, sometimes lying...etc) Oh Sai i'm just wasting my life completely. I never knew that to be a HUMAN is such a hard thing.....seriously......

Iam such a bad girl...oh god....what do i do to become a good human being. I have already wasted 24 years of my life and now i dont want to waste even a single day of my life.

Please help me sai...I wanna make a full use of this life....i cant let it go just like that...

DHARM, ARTH, KAAM, MOKSH....I also want to follow this funda in my life.
I need your help, support, guidance in any form in each and every step of my life.....

    Om Sai Ram

SAIBABA AAPKO AUR AAPKE PARIWAAR KO HAMESHA KHUSHIYA DE.
beti, Aapne hume Itane pyar se likha hai ki hum aapko bina dekhe hi aapka pyar mehsus kar sakte hai.
mera aashirwaad aap ke saath hamesha rahega..aur sabhi bachhe bhi usme shaamil hai.
Mai umar se jarur badi hu aap mujhe Nani bhi keh sakti ho .Meri bhi 4 saal ki poti (granddaughter) hai. Puri jindagi bachhonke aas-paas hi gujaara hai aur ab unke pardes jaane ke baad bahut udaasi chaayi thi. mujhe pehali aasha ki kiran dikhane waale Rr ji the.

par jabse aap sabhi se itana saaraa pyar milne laga toh nayi ummid jaagi hai.
SHUKRIYA MERE BACHHA LOG ISS MAA KE PYAR KI KADAR KARNE KE LIYE.
aap hi ke wajah se Dill me bhari mamata ko baantne ka mauka mila hai.
Bahut shaanti milati hai jab aap kisiko apna mano ya koi aapko apna maane.
Iss pavitra pyar me naa hi dekhane ki jarurat hai naa hi pehchaan ki.
Jarurat hai to sirf do-char pyar bhare shabdonki jo likhnewale ke liye aur padhnewale ke liye  prerana aur pyar ka prateek ban jaate hai.
Baba mere maalik reham nazar se sabhi ka kalyaan karo.

  • Dear smg,

Thanks for sharing wonderful article to make realize reality of inner mind.

"Let Thy Will be done" requires a tremendous amount of courage. It requires a lot of faith. Because somewhere deep down inside your heart and mind, you wish and hope that the Lord's Will coincides with your own.

it is very true. If we wish for something and fail to get it whether any person's love, job or any object, we say to baba "as you wish". But somewhere in inner mind there is still hidden wish to get our desire fulfill even through a miracle. And this inner wish keep on causing pain in our life, not let detach from our desires.

    May Sai Bless You.

Beti, aapse milne ki ichha hume bhi hai.  SaiBaba ji,ne hum sabhiko yahaapar milaaya hai toh, kabhi woh din bhi aayega hai naa? tabtak aap hamse iss forum ke jariye pyari pyari baate karate rahe. hame bhi bahut khusi hogi.
aap sirf 24 saal ke ho,,abhi to aapki hasane khelne ke din hai. Spirituality ke liye alag kuch karne ki jarurt bilkul nahi..aapko jaisi jindagi mili hai usiime khush rehkar aapse jitna ho sake utani jyada khushiya doosaronko dene ki koshish karo.
"jeeyo aur jeene do" Isime jagat ka saara arth chipa hai.
Kyun ki, agar aapko kisiko kush dekhna hai toh aapko unki khusi ki jarurte pure karne honge..
Jaise ki, koi aapke pyare bol sunkar khush ho jaaye toh koi aapse dhan ki sahaayata paakar, koi aap ke haath ka bhojan par toh aur koi aapke sneh paakar khush hojaay.
Aur iss ke liye aapko khud se jyaada saamne wale ke baare me sochna hoga.
Agar aap sachhe dill se aaisa karam karne lage toh iss se badkar aur spirituality kya ho sakati hai?
Buss dhyan rahe kabhi bhi kisike munko jaane anjaanese bhi thes naa lagane de.
Aur baaki sab Maalik ke bhrose chod de.
Aajtak maine inhii niyamonka paalan kiya hai..iss se jyada ki spirituality kya hoti hai shaayad mai aajbhi jaan nahi saki.
sabki khushi me hi maine apni khushi paayi hai, yahi wajah hai jab koi bachha udaas ho jaata hai ya dukhi mujhe bahut bechaini mehsus hoti hai. buss prathana karti hu aur barosa karti hu ki...
    Mere sai sabka bhala karenge.

yup saib ji very true and i completely agree with you....

thank you sooo much sainetras ji, apki ye suggestion main humesha yaad rakhungi....aur koshish karti rahungi ki main dusro ko kush rakh sakun...apke post padne ke bad mujhe bi laga ki real spirituality yei hai....books padne se app yeh jan sakte ho ki hum insano ko kaise behave karna chaiye but usko practice mein lana to humara hi kaam hai na...agar wo hi ni kiya to yeh sab padne ka kya fayda....

but at the same time yeh kaam bi bahut mushkil hai ki app humesha dusro ko kush rakhe, aur unki khushi mein apni khushi dhondhe, its really very tough...aisa samay bi zaroor ata hai ki jab hum sochte hain ki humari khushi is samay zyada mayne rakhti hai aur hum us waqt second person ke bare mein shayad itna nai sochte aur jane anjane mein uski feelings ko hurt kar dete hain...i dont know ki hume us situation mein kya karna chaiye?

n jahan tak ho sakta hai i always try ki i dont hurt anyone and keep them happy aur meri yehi koshish aage bi jari rahegi...

n yes apne bilkul sahi kaha....live n let live(jiyo aur jeene do)....very important....

    may sai bless you all....

  • pyari smg,
Jaise tumne kaha hai, kahii baar na chahate huve bhi hum logonse doosaronko dukh pahunch sakata hai ..aakhir hum INSAAN hi hai na..Agar Inn panch vikaaronko, (kaam..krodh...lobh..mad..matsar.) vash me kar paaye hote toh sant na ban jaate..?
Isiliye maine likha tha ki,  jitna ho sake utna  JYADA KOSHISH karte rehana hai.
Bante bante banega aaise Saibaba bhi kehte the. "Practice makes perfect"
Mai bhi puri jindagi koshish hi toh kar rahi hu.
10 me 4 ya 5 baar hi safalta mil paayi hai.
Kahi baar achha karne jaao aur unse apne baare me galat-salat sunkar bura bhi laga hai.
phir bhi, khud ki aatma sahi keh rahi hai toh, wahi sunana jyada thik samajkar nek raasta hi apnaanaa chayiye.
Kehana aasaan hai par karana mushkil jarur hai lekin naa-mumkin nahi.
Isiliye itne saalon tak meri koshish hi jaari hai aur rahegi.
Mere sai mujhme aur shraddha aur saburi aur mun ko majbut karne ki kshmataa dete rahe.
Deva reham karo....take care meri bachhi ---khush raho.
