The Power of the Rudraksha and the Merit one earns by Wearing it on the Body.

Shri Guru explains the Importance of Rudraksha by narrating a Story of King Bhadrasen in Kashmere and his Son Sudharma and the Minister's son Tarak who always wore Rudraksha and were not fond of Luxurious Life. Once when Shri Parashara Rishi arrives there the King asks him the reason for such behaviour and the Rishi Narrates the Story of a Concubine and Says that once when Lord Shiva came to test her Devotion, he gave her the Divya Linga he had and in turn demanded her to act as Pati Vrata for 3 days which she agreed. But the Divya Linga was burnt in the fire that caught the Dancing Hall. The Monkey and Cock living there too were burnt and dead. The Disguised Men burnt himself as he said before that the Linga is his Life. The concubine decided to Perform Sati but Lord Shiva appeared before her and blessed all the People of the city with Shashwat Kailasa Pada. The Monkey, which used to be with her, took birth as King Son Sudharma and the Cook as Ministers Son. Due to the training of the previous birth both are `Dnyanis' and devotees of Shiva.Shri Guru thus describes the Importance of Rudraksha.

    The Importance of RudraAbhisheka.

The King Bhadrasen asks Shri Parashar about the Future of his son and was much grieved to know that his son has only 8 days left in his Life. On being asked for a remedy Shri Parashar asks the King to worship Lord Shiva with Rudrasukta. On the eigth day at mid-day the rajkumar all of a sudden fell on the ground senseless. Abhishek teerth was sprinkled on his body and the brahmins also threw enchanted `akshat' (rice) of Rudra on the same. Due to this, Yamadoot did not dare to come near the Rajkumar who soon awoke from the swoon. His death was thus averted. Shri Narad Muni Informs the king that the child was Saved by Shivadootas and that he has Life of 10,000 Years.

    The Importance of Somavara Vrata.

    Kacha and Devayani :

Shri Guru narrates the Story of how the Demons were being saved by Shukracharya by reciting the Sanjeevani Mantra while a war against Gods and how Kacha , the son of Brihaspati went to Shukracharya as Pupil to make the Mantra work no more. Devayani , the daughter of Shukracharya liked Kacha and made her father bring him back to life whenever killed by Demons. Finally the demons had to kill kacha and mix his flesh in Shukracharyas Drink and in order to save kacha ,Shukracharya had to teach the Mantra to Devayani and kacha came to life tearing his belly.Devayani recited the Mantra and brought back Shukracharya to life.By the time Kacha memorised it as he heard it 3 times. when Kacha refused to marry devayani she cursed him to forget all the Knowledge he earned from her Father and i turn Kacha cursed that the Mantra should no longer work as it was taught to a Lady. Thus the Gods were Delighted.

    Chandrangad and Simantini :

The Young wife Savitri then requested Shri Guru to tell a Vrata to perform. Shri Guru asks her to perform the Somavara Vrata and narrates the Story of Chandrangad and Simantini.

There lived a King called Chitravarma who had a daughter called Simantini. The king was worried as one astrologer said that she would become widow at the age of 14.Once when Maitrayani ,wife of Yadnyavalkya visited there she asked Simantini to perform Somavara Vrata which she performed devotedly."Simantini was married to Chandrangad, son of Indrasen of the famous `Nal' family, with due festivities. Chandrangad stayed at Chitrayarma for some days. Once he went to Kalindi (Yamuna) river with some friends.

They were travelling in a ferry-boat. All of a sudden the boat sank in the river. Even after deligent search no trace of Chandrangad was found. The worried king Indrasen was put in jail by his enemies who usurped the throne. Simantini couldnt perform Sati as the Body was not found and thus she continued with the Somavara Vrata.

When Chandrangad was drowned, he was taken by the Nagkanyas to Vasuki in Patal, where he met the Takshaka King who was impressed by the Prince and he gifted the Prince with Precious Things and sent a Nagkumar with him who visited the Kingdom of Indrasen and informed the enemies about the Return of Prince , who immediately restored the Kingdom back to king Indrasen and thereafter the Prince lived happily with Simantini. Thus is the Importance of Somavara Vrata.

Feeding of Thousands of People with but Small Measureful of Rice.

There used to be Samaradhana daily at Ganagapur and Shri Guru and the Disciples were invited there. Once a poor brahmin of Kashyapa Gotra called Bhaskara came there from Kashi. He too had a wish of doing Samaradhana but he didnt had enough Flour and rice. other Brahmin ridiculed him for not doing Samaradhana. Seeing his devotion, Shri Guru asked bhaskar one day to do samaradhna. He was glad and even encouraged by Shri Guru's words. He brought ghee and vegetables and prepared the food after bath. All brahmins thought that they would have to dine at their homes and have ordinary meals that day.But the Brahmin invited all the Brahmins as said by Shri Guru.As the brahmins joked at him, a disciple was sent by Shri Guru and all of them came to the Math.

Shri Guru asked Bhaskar Brahmin to bring the food prepared by him and cover it with Shri Guru's cloth. When this was done, Shri Guru sprinkled holy water from his bowl on the food and said, `without removing the covering cloth, take out the articles in other pots and serve them to the Brahmins.' Food was served to the Brahmins and then to their family , other people at Ganagapur and finally to all the   Creatures. This was a Great Miracle. The food sufficient only for three persons was provided to over 4000 persons. Several such incidents have occurred in the life of Shri Guru.

The Importance of Ahwattha; the Barren Woman Past her Sixties Bears Children.

There lived one Shounak Gotri, Apastamb Brahmin named Somanath. His wife Ganga was a devoted wife, pious by nature. She was 60 years old, but she had no issue. She used to come to Shri Guru and bow to him devotedly every day. One day Shri Guru asks her Desire and the women  asks to bless us her with a Son atleast in her Next Birth. Shri Guru Says her that the Service to the Ashwattha will not be futile. There is an Ashwattha tree at the Bhima Amarja sangam. I am present there after the bath in the river. Therefore worship the Ashwattha devotedly. The greatness of Ashwattha is narrated in the Puranas. Brahmadeo is at its root, Vishnu is in its middle portion and the Rudra is on its top and the Agni (fire god) lies in the interior of this tree. Shri Guru thus explains the Importance of worshipping Ashwattha.

She started worshipping Ashwattha as advised by Shri Guru. On the third day, she had a dream. A Brahmin told her to go to Shri Guru at Ganagapur, have seven rounds of Shri Guru and take the prasad that is given to her and that her desire will be fulfilled. She awoke. On the fourth day she went to Shri Guru and had 7 rounds. Shri Guru gave her 2 fruits and said, `Eat these fruits. Your desire will be fulfilled.' She then completed her vrat of the worship of Ashwattha. During meals she ate the fruits given by Shri Guru. On the 5th day she became pregnent. After 9 months she begot a daughter. After 10 days she came to Shri Guru with the baby. Shri Guru smiled and blessed her saying she will have one more Son. Thus was the Greatness of Shri Guru.

The Unflinching Devotion of Sayamdeo to Shri Guru Nath.

Shri Gurus fame spread all over the country. Knowing this, Sayamdeo also came to Ganagapur.
I wish to stay with you and serve your holyself now.

Shri Guru said My service is difficult. I live in a town for some time, while in the forest at other time. It is troublesome to live in a forest. If your mind is firm then only you should stay here.Sayamdeo conceded and said, `A devotee of Shri Guru has no fear.' Three months passed. One evening Shri Guru went to the Sangam along with Sayamdeo alone and sat below the Ashwattha tree. There was a great storm, followed by heavy rain, Sayamdeo stood stretching a cloth over Shri Guru to protect him from the rain. There was a shivering cold in the night. So Shri Guru asked Sayamdeo to go to the Math in the town and bring fire. Shri Guru warned Sayamdeo not to look to his right or left side. Anyhow Sayamdeo reached the Math, took fire and returned. Out of curiosity, he looked to his right side and saw a Cobra going with him. He was frightened. he then looked to the left side. Here too he saw another Cobra. He recited Shri Guru's name and walked straight. He came to Shri Guru and lit the fire. The two Cobras came before Shri Guru, bowed to him and went away. Shri Guru said to Sayamdeo, `Why are you so much afraid? I had sent these Cobras to protect you. Shri Guru then started explaining him about the Importance of Service to Shri Guru.

The son of the Guru said, `Bring sandals for me, that would enable me to walk on waters and take me to any desired place. The daughter of the Guru asked the boy, `Bring earrings for me and a play-house of a elephant tooth having one pillar and all the conveniences. Also bring pots in which food will be warm and which will not be black due to suit.

He said her that in his previous life he was a Dog in Pampa City and that he had the Darshan of Lord Shiva on Maha Shivratri and due to the Merits of Fasting and other , he was born as a king. He also Narrates the Previous and Upcoming Births of the Both. Such is the Significance of Shri Shailyam.

The Poet-devotee of Lord Shri Kalleshwara becomes Devotee of Shri Guru.

This Adhyay refers to the ancedote of one poet Naraesari who was a devotee of Lord Kalleshwara and who did not believe in Shri Narasimha Saraswati's divinity. People told him the greatness of Shri Guru and requested him to compose poems in his praise. But he said, 'I have sold my tongue to Kalleshwar and I shall not compose poems in praise of a human being'.

As usual he went to the temple to worship Kalleshwar. While workshipping, he had a nap and he got asleep. He saw a dream that Shri Guru was sitting on the Shiva Linga and that he was worshiping Shri Guru. Later the Linga disappeared and Shri Guru only was seen. Shri Guru smiled and asked him 'You do not believe in a human being and then why are you worshiping me?'.

Narakesari awoke and wondered about the dream. He repented for underestimating Shri Guru Narasimha Saraswati, and went to Shri Guru, bowed to him and begged forgiveness. Shri Guru accepted him as his Disciple.
