Jai Sai Ram.
"When the mind is without renunciation in the highest degree and there is no discrimination between the Permanent and transient, how can such a one enjoy the guru's grace, even if he were to spend the whole lifetime seeking it?"
When we don't get what we want, when God does not fulfill our desires, then we must remember these lines from Shri Sat Charitra. Indeed, renunciation (Tyaga) is the hardest quality to develop. We cannot give up the sense of ownership when the desires and temptations are strong. It is very hard to remember that this world is impermanent, transient. Like the bolt of lightening in the sky, human existence is so short and fleeting. Yet, everything appears so real. In shaping his disciples, Baba strips them of all they own or covet to possess. I think this is what the path of discipleship is all about.
Om Sai Ram.
