Dear Manav,
#1 rule for attracting love from others is to love yourself. I have been in a similar situation as yours. Though, I haven't been reunited with my love yet, the journey of discovering myself, ever since I faced rejection, has been the most beautiful gift I got in return for not been reunited with my love yet.
This(unrequited love) is the most painful experience one can have, but remember pain is a sign of spiritual growth, and the situation you are facing now is given by life as an opportunity to look WITHIN yourself through the mirror of another person, evolve spiritually in love, heal your wounds and eventually learn to love yourself and the God within and become a beacon of love for the world. What you give, is what you attract manifold. So once you give love, you will begin to attract it - who knows from Neha. Love is a strange thing. When you become attractive for one person, you become attractive for the world. So, how do you become attractive for one person, and this first person is YOU - it is by loving yourself. When you become attractive to yourself and love yourself, you will attract love from the world. I know whatever I am saying is easy to preach but very hard to practise. I am also learning the same things I am writing to you. What I am writing are the things I learnt after the person I loved refused to accept it. By loving yourself means setting healthy boundaries, saying NO to situations you don't want, treat yourself well, take care of yourself well, but most importantly become calm and secure from within.
You may want to ask some questions : why did Neha reject you - is it her rejection to 'you' or do you reject parts of yourself - if yes, learn to accept yourself unconditionally. Give love and be open to receive love from anyone and everyone in whatever form. Is it love that you feel towards Neha or is it attachment - if it is attachment - learn to let-go and detach from people or situations that you want to attract the most - once you detach from situations and people you seek desperately, they will come and seek you. If you were attracted to Neha due to some qualities in Neha, know the same qualities are in yourself and evolve those qualities in yourself and give expression to themselves. Weird though they may sound, but these are the lessons I learnt the very hard way. Have a calm mind, without the least anxiety or desperation and be very happy, feel peaceful from within and you'll attract love from everyhwere including Neha.
This beautiful journey has led me to discover some very beautiful things and I will list a few :
1) I came to know myself as an eternal spirit. I felt the terrible pain of separation, but it was the beginning of a beautiful journey inward.
I had tons of questions and right people appeared at the right time with the right answers. The list of people who appeared in my life is indeed a very long one and knowing these people has been a fascinating experience. These people came to me through books, articles, songs, or some answer by a friend. Whatever the source, I always got the right answer.
2) I met Shirdi Sai Baba when in terrible pain. Now I am his ardent devotee, but the journey started from my broken heart. I am so thankful today to the person who caused me 'pain' because it led me to meet Baba.
3) I love myself more, have found my purpose in life, i.e. what God has sent me to do here, in this journey.
4) I found that I have such wonderful friends and family. I began to relate to my friends and family on a much deeper and more meaningful way. I found this forum!
5) I came very close to God and found the true value of life.
6) I have learnt to detach, let-go, surrender, have faith and patience.
Remember God wants you to rise in love and not fall. So, don't lose heart my freind. It is just the beginning of a beautiful journey. If your love for Neha is true, you will meet the right people at right time and they will lead you towards your desire. Remember my friend, only to have an open heart and open mind in this journey and you will sail through fine.
I can feel your pain. Read good books, take self-development courses, meditate, pray, help people, remove pain from someone's life and God will reward you. There are a few books that greatly helped me (you can order these books on Amazon) :
1) Personal power through awareness
2) Living with Joy
Authors are Sanaya Roman
3) Books by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
4) There is a beautiful magazine called Consecration published from Kerala. Please do subsribe to it if you can(it's not very expensive). You can even read it online at lordsrikrishna.net. It will fill your heart with joy.
Life is testing you. The more positive aspect of your being is awakened in this trial. So don't lose heart. Pray to God and you'll be fine.
I hope my message helps.
May Baba always bless you.
