Dear SaiSevak,
Before I come to your question, you choose really a beautiful Id. Bud do you know the real meaning of Sewak. (you write as Sevak).
When we work for someone there are two forms Employee or Sewak.
Employee takes interest what his owner is doing, How and what is performance. He earned Bonus, He can go against the wish of owner if Union permits, He expects awards or rewards, and if He finds more benefits with any other employer, He can shift to that organization for more Pay Package or big position.
Now Second Position, Sewak, For a Sewak Wish of his Master is supreme order. He never gets into what his Master is doing, why etc. etc. He only obeys thy order and in that he feels the pleasures of life. He never demands anything in return. Because He knows he is the responsibility of his Master.
This was a lesson that I learned some times ago, what relation one should have with his supreme Master.
Your this question also reminded me one TV serial some years ago. There were some monks who were fed up with their life, discussed Lord Buddha himself married and also have son, but ask us to follow a straight life, away from all pleasures. So, wish to return to normal worldly life.
Same with Baba, in his case since no question of marriage, So people start discussing such issues, If Baba was non-vegetarian, so what is wrong, if we eat. But, if they want to follow Baba, they why not complete, Can they take their bones out, Can they control their senses. Baba had complete control over all sense, so there was no taste associated with food.
This is not a new question, Veg ask to firm their believes, Non Veg ask for their. But, is it really so important.
Kiri has rightly explained, Hell or heaven is nothing to do with your food style, unless you kill animals just for taste. I have seen many vegetarians who are in unfair practices in all the fields of life and innocent non- vegetarians, still it is better to be vegetarian to feel oneness of God with all world.
on the basis of what I have read:
1. Baba himself used to prepare food many times, veg and non-veg both.
2. He did first to unite both religions at same place.
3. Food is a good attraction even today’s world for religious places.
4. He performed so many miracles, but he wanted to change human nature gradually, it was not to happen overnight.
5. He never forced any one to change from Veg to Non-Veg and vice-versa.
6. To teach about detachment.
7. To make one to be firm on his birth faith first.
(To know more you can use Google)
Sorry, if could not explain properly, But if you seek answer to decide your food habits, then take time, think rationally ……….. but if to know more about Baba, then make it from Macro Level (Nirakar Sarvvyapak Ishwar) to Mirco Level (God in mortal Body)
Just to help you, following is an article from Ashok Ji on Sathya sai form:
Misconceptions over the years have surrounded vegetarian diets and those who adopt them.
Let’s view the myths and see the actual reality.
Myth #1: All vegetarians are animal-rights activists.
Myth #2: Vegetarians just do not get enough protein.
Myth #3: Vegetarians just do not get enough calcium.
Myth #4: Vegetarian diets aren't balanced, so they are risking their health for their principles.
Myth #5: A vegetarian diet is all right for an adult, but kids need meat to develop properly.
Myth #6: Humans were designed to eat meat.
Reality #1 All vegetarians are animal-rights activists.
Research shows that most people adopt a vegetarian diet for the health benefits. The second most cited reason is animal rights. Even the people who mentioned animal rights say that health is the number one reason they follow a vegetarian diet.
Reality #2: Vegetarians just do not get enough protein.
Well there was a time when nutritionists and dietitians even said this, but no longer. Now, we know that vegetarians get plenty of protein. What they don't get is the excessive amount of protein found in the typical modern diet. If you eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes, then getting enough protein is not an issue.
Reality #3: Vegetarians just do not get enough calcium.
This myth has been applied, in particular, to vegetarians- vegans who have eliminated meat and milk products from their diets. Somehow, the notion got started that the only good source of calcium is milk and cheese. Granted, milk does have a good supply of calcium, but so do many vegetables _ especially green, leafy veggies. The truth is, vegetarians suffer less from osteoporosis (a deficiency of calcium that leads to weak bones) because the body assimilates the calcium they eat more easily during digestion.
Reality #4: Vegetarian diets aren't balanced, so they are risking their health for their principles.
First of all, a vegetarian diet isn't out of balance. It has a good proportion of all the complex carbohydrates, protein, and fat the three macro nutrients that are the cornerstone of any diet. Plus, vegetarian food sources (plants) tend to be higher sources of most of micro nutrients. Another way to look at it is this: The average meat eater consumes one or fewer servings of vegetables a day and no servings of fruit. If a meat eater does eat a vegetable, chances are it's a fried potato. "Out of balance" depends on your perspective.
Reality #5: A vegetarian diet is all right for an adult, but kids need meat to develop properly.
This statement makes the assumption that protein from plants isn't as good as protein from meat. The truth is, protein is protein. It is all made from amino acids. Children need 10 essential amino acids to grow and develop properly. These amino acids are as readily available in plants as they are in meat.
Reality #6: Humans were designed to eat meat.
Although humans are capable of digesting meat, human anatomy clearly favors a diet of plant foods. Our digestive systems are similar to those of the other plant-eaters and totally unlike those of carnivores. The argument that humans are carnivores because we possess "canine" teeth ignores the fact that other plant-eaters have "canine" teeth, and that ONLY plant-eaters have molar teeth. Finally, if humans were designed to eat meat, we wouldn't suffer from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis from doing so.
If you find this useful, great, if not, Don’t worry, Baba always answer the genuine questions by whatsoever medium or …………… thyself.
All the best!
