just listen to your soul

There comes a time in everyone's life,

when this question stabs at the heart like a knife.
Some call it growing pains as you well know,
others call it change, a mid-life crises or so.

It can be brought on by loss or emotional stress,
or even by a near-death experience, no less.
But I think it's your soul shouting and crying out,
that it's time to look in the mirror and then turn about.

For this question surfaced several years back,
and when this happened, I stopped dead in my tracks.
First I searched around and then looked up and down,
but I felt so lost and heaved a sigh that frowned.

Strangely I sensed there was something missing,
for this is what my soul kept insisting.
At first I thought that material gain,
would bring satisfaction through wealth or great fame.

But would this fill the deep void from within?
Perhaps a new trade might just be the thing!
And then others think that they solve the puzzle by,
getting a divorce or developing new ties.

But the more I pondered upon these questions,
my higher self gave me re-direction.
For even with material gain, wealth or great fame,
one's happiness and contentment isn't the same.

For all loving harmony rises deep within the soul,
and to find its true meaning is your ultimate goal.
So to find the key to unlock the puzzle now,
just listen to your soul and it will show you how.
