The Child

Lord....

The little child in me
Sees this world a perfect
Place....
This child hears no crying
Voice
And sees no saddened face;
Who has no fear of danger
Who knows not of hate
Who wants to see all peoples
Friends...
In fact this child can't wait!

This child sees no difference
In the color of the skin
For this child knows each person
Was made his equal kin;
Each of us has a child way down
Deep inside...
But sadly we force this little child
To disappear, to hide!

A little child's not prejudiced
He doesn't know of hate...
He loves with wild abandon
His heart knows no restraint;
The world needs her children
To feel their healing love
To put a smile in God's eyes
As He looks down from above....

If each of us would let our child
Love as children do
The comfort found in Brother Love
Would make our world
Brand new....
So love as little children do
Your smile will light the way
For all of us here on earth
Will find joy soon one day!
