Title: You and I (Duality or Non-duality).
Post by: Baobabtree on November 15, 2008, 03:05:16 PM
You and I

Oh Shiva
I bow my head towards you always
and shower my love upon you always
and thank you for all the blessings
you have so mercifully bestowed
upon a sinner like me
Oh Lord of Kailash
But, a great dilemma has now befallen me
I must know oh Lord
Are we two or one?
This great mystery I have fathomed
day after day
and still I have yet to make a solid resolve
So tell me oh Mahadev
Are we one or two?
How could I ever see my beloved father
Who has created and prevades
all of this creation
Who is free and sinless
Who is perfect in every way
As being the same as the imperfect sinner
Who lovingly writes this poem
Yet, do not the Upanishas say
Tat Vam Asi
You are That
and have you not taught this great nonduality
as Sai Baba the fakir of Shirdi
Yet, do not the Brahma Sutras say
Brahman and the Jiva are different
Oh Maheshwar
My dilemma is indeed great
Please bless me with knowledge
and show me the right way

Aum Namah Shivaya
