the trees

Each day BABA SAI gives sunrise in
early morning
HE made the rows of golden
wheat field
The grass sparkling like
diamonds with dew
Each day we are blessed with
something new

Each day we should be thankful
for everything
That BABA SAI gives, making our
heart sing
Outside we look around
surprised to find
BABA SAI created beauty of a
different kind.

Give BABA SAI thanks for blessings
each day
For being the guide on our
pathway
For having freedom without
fear
Each day trust and believe

Sunita dear welcome to BABA SAI's Blessed Online Mandir.  Thanks for your compliments.  Its so simple to earn BABA's grace but we make it difficult.  I would say in few words that always BE with U.  Live life 'As Is Where Is Basis' come what may and slowly slowly HE will take u in HIS charge.  It is THE secret to earn HIS Bhakti....

I was thinking about my own failings in loving Baba a while back, when I chanced upon your poems. I am amazed how beautifully your love for Baba finds expression in these verses. As a humble beginner on Sai's path, I derive great encouragement reading posts of devotees who have already arrived. By Baba's grace, I hope to reach your level of devotion to Him some day. The Last Leaf....MY BABA SAI

I was thinking of old friends today,
And how many of them have slipped away,
Moved, got married, or stopped calling so much,
Found new friends, got busy, and just lost touch.

It reminded me of falling leaves,
Every autumn the leaves fall from the trees,.
Some stay longer than others, but eventually -
Each leaf must fall, I'm told,
Leaving the tree alone to face the cold.

Why is it that in the time of utmost need,
The leaves would seek to leave the tree,
And when we need our friends around,
We look and they can not be found.

Of course these friendships come and go,
And in the spring new leaves will grow,
But I prefer autumn friends of old,
With crackling laughter and colors bold.

It saddens me now I must admit,
How somehow, someway, I did forget,
Laughing with old friends of mine,
During summers when the sun would shine.

And then I thought of YOU,
That one stubborn leaf that won't let go,
That clings despite the winds that blow,
Fighting ice, and snow, and winter's stings,
Hanging on right through till spring.

So I guess that's what YOU are to me -
The very last leaf to leave the tree.
I know it seems silly, but it's true.
When I see that last leaf...
I think of U.... O MERE BABA SAI.
