Shirdi Sai Baba Temple receives record single day donation



 
Ahmednagar, Jan 8 (ANI): MLA and Chairman of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Jayantrao Sasane said today, a record amount of Rs 92,42,239 was received in donations at the famous Sai Baba Temple at Shirdi in this district on January 5, the highest single day collection in 85 years.

Addressing a press conference, he said, collection from donation box at the temple during 2004 was Rs 27,51,23,245 in cash, 9115-gram gold and 17,8958-gram silver. The Sansthan also received Rs 1.25 crore on account of prasad, he said.

The Sansthan is having deposits of Rs 205 crore, Sasane informed. It has incurred around Rs 3.70 crore on account of the Sainath Charitable Hospital last year. Medical aid of Rs 4.01 crore was given for the treatment of patients suffering from serious ailments. A provision of Rs 9 crore has been made for medical aid in 2005, the Sansthan Chairman informed.

The temple's annual budget of 2004-2005 is Rs 88.53 crore.(ANI)
