Shirdi Trip

Hello Friends,

I am planning to go to Shirdi on 23rd of this month(my leave is sanctioned)and to be there in Shirdi upto 26th, my b'day. As there is ample time, if any of our members has any wishes, send to me as letters (pasted envelope) in a cover and I will drop them in Hundi there in Samadhi Mandir and pray to Baba to fulfill the wishes of all of us.

Today we are going for reservation. If I am unable to go as planned, I will drop them in a hundi in Punjagutta Baba Temple.

I did go to Shirdi 5 times so far. But I wish to know from other devotees about any suggestions like what to do in Shirdi etc., What they usually do.

Coming to me, I usually visit all the places of importance and devotees' houses. But in March I just spent time in Samadhi Mandir, Dwarakamai and Prayer Hall. I did pradakshinas and also read Gurucharitra, Sai Leelamrutam and wrote Sai Namam, OM SRI SAI RAM.
Ofcourse Sai Satya Vratam I perform.

This time I wish to attend one Arathi (so far I was never so close during Arathi time) and also planning to take part in Abhishekam. (which we didn't so far).

Give me any suggestions. This time also I wish to do pradakshina and Sai Satyavratam. If possible Parayana too. This time I have special friends, Sai Bandhus of this site, for whom I will pray and whose messages, I will convey.

I thank Baba for taking me to Shirdi again(if everything goes well. Somehow I fear HE may cancel it, if I say like 'I am going to Shirdi'. He is taking me to Shirdi, I always say.) that to on a b'day. I pray HIM to start talking to me again and show me direction. I need HIS answer and also direction on future course of action. I badly need it.

In Dwarakamai pilgrims have their worship and study Of scriptures ie Sai Baba Charitra. Dhyana also can be had here. They also put the following articles in Dhuni.

1. Hairy Coconuts (Kobbari Kaya)

2. Pidakalu (cakes made of cows dung)

3. Twigs of trees like Ravi, Thulasi, Medi ete

4. Nine different grains (Navadhnyamulu)

5. Pieces of Sandal wood

6. Camphor

7. Sambrani

8. Cows ghee.

Devotees believe that by doing so they can have their sins burnt, desires fulfilled and can enjoy every happiness. Every pilgrim takes these things with him for the purpose .

Some time back i remember when i  had planned my first visit to shirdi after baba gave me a job  and so as promised i was to give baba my first month salary - so i was always praying baba make the shirdi trip happen and then we had reserved our train tickets for sometime on June last week  but it so happened on a thursday when i was  coming out of babas mandir after the morning abishek and was proceeding towards my office

Unexpectedly i met with an accident - and that too on  a thursday  i had a head injury and luckily doctor said you are are so lucky that  a little more hurt you would have to undergo a  brain surgery
Oh maaaaaaa Baba saved me somehow - even to this day i dont know how the accident took place as i lost consciousness for  few minutes

I had not been much hurt except waht the doc said and i was kept in the nuero icu for 2 days - i was  in the hospital for a week - and after that i was still asking the doc - there
i want to visit Sai - I was asked to go home and take rest
When i asked the doc - he said Oh you wan to go to shirdi - he is the biggest doctor and who else you need - go ahead

I was a little adamant saying - i still want to visit in this condition - then i realised may be not this time for me to go and  
we cancelled the tickets

Something big was averted by Sai in a small way

Then we went there in August - when i was completely ok .. baba took us there with out much trouble

Baba saved me -i can say that

Then at shirdi - we could do the abhishekam and
Yes you can take part in that  too

Also the  place itself is so serene u just feel like  hankering around the samadhi mandir for longer time and keep praying to BABA

Also the satcharitha paryan , lendi baag and the  nanda deep , gurusthan are all place that you would be visiting

My second trip was during June 2004 and that time we also went to
one place where baba s apostle  H H sivanesan swamiji samadhi does exist  this ashram of Sivanesan Swamiji of Shirdi is nearby
You can do visit this if you have time left

and i remember we went to look at upasani babas ashram /mandir
Just 4 miles from Shirdi there is Upasani Baba Asramam at Sakori, pilgrims visit these places also with reverence.

Also remember to visit the khandoba mandir ( where baba was greeted by mahalsapathy by saying Aao Sai"

So we are praying that baba calls you to shirdi and makes all arrangements for your visit

All the Best for ur Journey Towards Shirdi,as U hav Visit 5 times u may be having enough knowledge ,but still i would like to suggest something regarding Udi,
pls go to Donation counter beside Canteen and donate 50 Ruppess for saileela magazine 1 yr Subscribtion and request Udi Packet there itself ,they will give u Big Packets of Udi and prasad, which r kept for Donors ..

Thank you all for your suggestions. Deepikaji, I did do the things you mentioned. I even burnt the Sambrani before Gurusthan on Friday. Also I lit ghee lamps near Nandadeep.

Shammiji, yes. Baba saved you from a big mishap and lessened your karma by keeping you in ICU for few days. You are blessed that your bad time is over.

I did go to Sakori and visited all the places you mentioned. I too went to Shirdi on June 26th last year. You also happened to be there on June. I will pray for your next trip to Shirdi.

Venkatji, Yes.  I am thinking of subscribing to SaiLeela once we did. But is that so cheap, 50 rs? Anyway I will find out.

I pray baba to start talking to me again. How do we feel if a best friend invites you to her house and then when we go, do not talk to you at all, despite making all the arrangements for you and safe stay there? It was the same with me in the last two trips. June 2004 and March 2005. I am desperate to talk to HIM again. I hope HE listens to me this time.

Why do  you fear baba will cancel and things like that ..?

Baba will definitely talk to you - just make a humble request and do this with child like innocence and prosrate before SAI - Am sure baba will surely start talking

You making it to shirdi and  he taking care of you itself is something  great of  BABA

The  invitation itself is great is nt it ?


Go with a humble self  and first ask him to forgive you and show mercy on you and talk to him and  he for sure will talk and listen

Shammiji, somehow I fear because there was 'broken promise' or a faulty message in all means through which I can contact HIM. By reading Satcharitra, by visiting temple, by casting chits, by implying things like (if it happens so, then I will assume that you agree to do etc., etc.,). Earlier I used to get correct messages in all ways. Now no message or a faulty message. So I stopped asking at all.

I just pray him by repeating his name again and again. Thats it. Even for this shirdi trip also, I told him that I do not ask you to take me. If you really wish, make this trip happen etc.,

Yes. Indeed the trip itself is his blessing. No doubt about it. But I feel empty if HE doesn't talk to me. Why should HE stop talking to me? What is my mistake? Having faith and devotion?

To be frank, though I yearn and wait for the day to land in Shirdi, I yearn more to listen to HIM. I badly need His words and direction. This is my present emotional state.

I wish to share my experiences of the shirdi trip once I return.

Sure. I will pray HIM to define what is sin, prevent us from making sins and also ask HIM not to give pain. So nice of you to pray for others too.

I remember a quote some elderly person told me, 'Pain is real, Suffering is the choice'. All great sayings are good to hear but difficult to practise. I am also in great pain.
