5yr waiting period to offer Bhog @ Sai Temple`Gwalior

Bhog is the offering of food to God while chanting religious hymns
after which this sanctified food is served to the devotees as 'Prasad'.

Thousands of devotees line up to offer Bhog to their Deities,
either praying for or in gratitude of some prayer being fulfilled.
But, in the case of the Sai Baba Temple in Vikas Nagar - Gwalior`Madhya Pradesh,
the current waiting period to offer Bhog to Baba has gone up to over 5 years !!!

The number of devotees wanting to offer Bhog to Baba at this temple is growing
at such a rate that if today a devotee registers to offer Bhog here,
he will get a receipt for it but will be able to offer Bhog only after a period of 5 years.
Till 2010 the waiting list of devotees with receipts was for about 3 to 4 years,
which currently in 2014 has gone up to over 5 years.



According to the Sai Bhakt Mandal Trust`Gwalior, devotees who cannot offer Bhog to Baba at Shirdi,
come here and get their names registered for the same, despite a waiting period of over 5 years,
for which the Temple authorities also make phone calls to the devotees, for reminders,
about their turn, as and when their date for offering Bhog to Baba arrives.

According to the Trust's records,
the current waiting period for offering Bhog in the afternoon is till 06th Aug`2019,
while the waiting period for offering Bhog in the night is till 01st Nov`2019 !

The Bhog made for offering is prepared in pure ghee (clarified butter)
in the Temple's kitchen itself while is offered to Baba in Silver utensils.
