Hi Shammi,
I agree with what you said. Sometimes with all the stress we ask for something that we think will make us feel better. But in reality it won't. I know because I did that. I asked for a sign and Sai Baba gave me one. It wasn't easy to process, in fact I was quite hurt, but I learned from it. When I prayed to Sai Baba I didn't ask him to keep my feelings in consideration or to please make it be nice. I know that Sai Baba only gives me what I can handle. I have complete faith.

God may delay prayer when he will not deny it,
because he sees we are not yet fit for the mercy we ask. Perhaps we
pray for deliverance when we are not fit for it; our scum is not yet
boiled away. We would have God swift to deliver, and we are slow to
repent.

God may delay to answer prayer, that the mercy we pray for
may be more prized, and may be sweeter when it comes. The longer the
merchant's ships stay abroad, the more he rejoices when they come
home laden with spices and jewels; therefore be not discouraged, but
follow God with prayer. Though God delays, he will not deny.

Our God may delay answering, but His delays always have good reasons with our welfare in mind. No matter what trials we face it is comforting to know that we are not alone. Our father Sai baba is always with us

God delays the answer for a certain while, because he's a good God and he knows that in order for you to become the person he wants you to be, you may need exactly what you're asking for. He may alredy have it on the rail, ready to send your way, but he cannot and he will not, until you are in a position spiritually to receive it.

So one of the reasons he causes a delay is in order to get us to surface things in our life that are not right, to deal with them so that you and I can enjoy what God wants to give us.

There are some things that I believe all of us ask for in life that God delays because he knows if he gave them at that specific time in our frame of mind, we would make the biggest mess of things
imaginable, so he delays.

God  resides affectionately in the hearts of the devotees, considering them His own; and He resides in the hearts of the other jivas in a detached way. God  is supremely independent, yet His quality of being controlled is that He resides in the hearts of devotees and has possessiveness (mamata) towards them. God  is made a prisoner by the loving devotion of His premi-bhaktas. Dear Shammiji Sai Ram

Your posts are a total and true experiences of mine. Many matters - personal , official, financial , health - what else can I quote - all respects Baba has proved that what I would feel necessary and pray him it many times happened in the reverse and I would quarrel with Baba a lot and sometimes stopped talking to him. But would within few days learn that I would have been in a big mess had he granted what I would had asked for. Infact, sometimes I told him "no mala this thursday for you" and only on such thursdays I would offer mala with tears of gratefulness.

Thanks a lot for these posts. Infact, I feel you are speaking the hearts of many of us.
