~~ SRI SAI BABA OF SHIRDI ~~~ FIRST BRAILLE BOOK ON SHIRDI SAI BABA FOR THE BLIND ~
Shirdi Sai Baba's benevolence touches everyone, irrespective of their caste, creed or religion.
These are no barriers to reach the great soul. Similarly, no physical impairment can keep one from receiving the blessing of the Master.
There are numerous anecdotes of His miracles that have alleviated the sufferings of those less endowed physically.
And many such unfortunate devotees have not lost faith in him in spite of great sufferings.
THE FIRST EVER BOOK ON SHIRDI SAI BABA IN BRAILLE,
TITLED "SRI SAI BABA OF SHIRDI"
WAS RELEASED ON 29th July`2010 FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED SAI DEVOTEES.
Whenever Sai devotee Sri.B.S.Gautam visited the Shirdi Saibaba Temple at B.T.M layout, Bangalore,
he noticed a few visually impaired children from Ramana Maharshi Institue for the Blind, at the Sai Temple for the Kakad Aarti.
After participating in the Aarti and Bhajan, they would touch Saibaba's Padukas installed there and return.
Seeing this Sri.B.S.Gautam thought as to how could he help the Blind children to read & know more about Shirdi Sai Baba.
He thought the best vehicle for that, was through Braille as at present there is no book in Braille on Shirdi Sai Baba.
So he approached the Braille Transcription Centre of the Canara Bank Relief and Welfare Society, Banashankari 2nd stage, Bangalore
and with the help of many Sai devotees, he put his idea into a concrete shape.
The Braille version book was released on 29th July 2010, Thursday at Sai Spiritual Centre, Tyagarajanagar, Bangalore
by its President Sri.Sheshadari. Sri.Jyothi Raghavan, Miss.Sunandana, Sri.Kashyap and Sri.Venkatesh were also present on the occasion.
This little book is for visually impaired devotees who don't need Idols or Images to offer their Prayers.
But with this Braille version, they can draw a lot of inspiration from the Master's Life and His teachings.
It is hoped that this effort will help such devotees get solace from Sri Shirdi Sai's words.
The First copy of this book along with a beautiful Idol of Sri.Sai Baba was recevied by veteran Blind Singer Sri.Gururaj,
who sings Devotional Bhajans at Sri.Ramakrishna Ashram, Basavanagudi,Bangalore.
The Second copy along with the Idol of Sri.Sai Baba was also received by Smt.Anjum Tage, who is employed with Mahindra Satyam
and the Third copy of the book along with Idol of Sri.Sai Baba was received by Miss.Shilpa who is employed with Oracle.
This Book, reasonably priced at Rs.400/- per copy comes along with a Sai Baba Idol which is made of
Rubberized Plastic material so that it would not break, incase it falls down.
