On 08th May`2014, there was a robbery at Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust's Dwarawati Bhakta Niwas @ Shirdi.
25 Tola Gold Jewelery worth Rs.7.5 lakh was stolen from an open room of a devotee from Karnataka.
This incident created a panic at the Bhakta Niwas.
The devotee along with his family arrived at Shirdi on 07th May`2014 night for Baba's Samadhi Darshan.
He booked 2 rooms in Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust's Dwarawati Bhakta Niwas.
On reaching their room, they removed all the Gold Jewelery and kept it inside a bag.

Early next morning (Thursday 08th May`2014), at around 05:30 am,
leaving their Bhakta Niwas room door open, the devotee's wife went
to a nearby shop to get something. On seeing the Room Door left open,
the thief sneaked in and instead of just the Jewelery, stole the whole bag in which the Jewelery was kept.
This incident occurred between 05:30 am and 06:00 am and it came to light only after the devotee woke up from sleep.
He then immediately reported the matter to the Shirdi Police Station and filed a complaint against the Robbers.
Also, in April 2013, an unattended bag lying at the main entrance of Sai Bhakta Niwas, was found to contain ganja.
Panic gripped people in the premises this afternoon when an employee of the Shirdi Saibaba Trust spotted the suitcase,
following which the Bomb Detection Squad was summoned. The bag had 10 kgs ganja, valued at Rs.1 lakh.
To be noted that, despite the Shirdi Sansthan having proper security measures @ its Bhakta Niwas,
the number of robbery cases @ the Bhakta Niwas are gradually increasing
which raises doubts over the Shirdi Sansthan's Security devices as well as questions the safety of devotees.
Even the Shirdi Police has been unsuccessful in curbing the rising number of such crimes in Shirdi.
