A very happy Holi to the entire Dwarkamai family !

May this festival of colours bring in joy and blessings to you and to your near and dear ones ...

Last night i was watching a spiritual program on TV and the well-learned elderly lady who was explaining the significance of Holi, brought in this interesting perspective on Holi.

1) First, she said that Holi is so similar to the English word Holy ... and indeed Holi is a very Holy day ...

2) Next, ( and you might require some basic knowledge of hindi here), she said that Holi can also be split into two words as "ho li" .. yaani jo baat ho li hai ... or jo events ho liye hain past mein ... i.e whats happened in the past.
And indeed, Holi is the day when we need to forget all things of the past, i.e burn all the bad memories of the past (during the Holi dahan) .. and start afresh and anew ... where we forgive those who have hurt us in the past and we ask for forgiveness from those whom we have hurt in the past and begin our relationships again on a sweet and colourful note ...
Toh jo baatein beete hue kal mein ho liye hain, unhe bhool jaao aur ek nayi shuruaat karo.

3) Third, (and you need to be a woman to relate to this .. :-) .. ) ..., again Holi can be split into the same two words as "ho li"  but this time it will be as in - main bhagwaan ki ho li hoon .... as in I am one with God ...  Or ... main Sai Baba ki ho li hoon ... I am one with Sai Baba ....

So thats how this person said Holi can be interpreted ...

kitne sunder likhte ho. Holi ka matlab Itana suhana hai iss baat ki samaj aaj hi hui. Aaise hi likhate rehana. Saibaba aapko duniya ki her khushi de.
Hum log on karate hi tumhara naam dhoondte hai. Jo bhi tum likhte ho usme sachhai nazar aati hai. Iss maa ki dua hai  hamesha Khush raho aur sub ko khushi dete raho. aur iss maa ko bhi tumhare prathna me shamil karo.
