Janmasthan at Pathari, of our Lord Sai Baba

  • I had the good fortune and opportunity to visit the very house where our SAI BABA was born.
The old almost broken house of mud and stones is now preserved in a huge glass air conditioned enclosure and  partitioned space, so that devotees will not further cause any erosion by taking away stones etc.

This is at PATHARI near Parbani, Beed district of Maharashtra, approachable from Aurangabad.

Attached are some pictures for the devotees.

  • Sai Ram Kumar Ji

Thanks for sharing this one. Do we have any link which confirms if this is true. Based on my little knowledge, no one knows the birth place of Baba.

  • Ofcourse. You have only to clue in on the internet/  'google' as SAI BABA  JANMASTHAN - PATHARI and you will read about this very large expose on this major place of pilgrimage.

For reasons best known to the Shirdi  Shree Sai  Baba Sansthan, they have kept these facts away from the general public.
Today there are major developments on in creating facilities for devotees and popularising this holy location.

Every major book/ biography on Shirdi Sai Baba describes this location.

One of these days I will myself add links to Pathari.

Typical:  Sai Janmasthan: Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Birthplace
    www.saijanmasthanpathri.com/home.html
Shri Sai Janmasthan Mandir is located at Pathri, District Parabhani, Maharashtra is the built in the birthplace of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba.

  • Something from the Internet...

Shirdi Saibaba is believed to have born in a small village in the Marathwada District of Maharashtra known as Pathri to a Brahmin family.

Shri V.B. Kher, a Sai devotee and researcher, conducted extensive research in 1975 to discover the birthplace of Sai Baba. Sai baba had referred to his family and birthplace in conversations with Mhalsapati and Swami Sai Sharan Anand, two of his close disciples. The well known saints Madhavnath and Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi have also indicated Pathri to be the birthplace of Sai Baba.

    --------------

Pathari is now coming up as a major attraction for Sai Baba devotees.

You would know only too well about the famous book " GOD WHO WALKED ON EARTH " by Rangaswamy Parathsarsthy. His gurus, Narasimha Swami, and Radhakrishna Swamiji from South India were the chief propagators of Shirdi Sai Baba's influence, teaching in Southern India from where it spread to all part of India and beyond India.

Kindly read the last chapter of this book, which clearly describes the limited role of educating the devotees about Shri Sai Baba, limiting all stories to his presence in Shirdi.

I advise your surfing the internet on this subject. There is a great deal to read.

  • My further comments...

    V. B. Kher  had done intensive research and eventually got the Janmasthan preserved in its present state.

Sai Baba of Shirdi: A Unique Saint Paperback – December 21, 2007
by M.V. Kamath & V.B.Kher (Author)    is noteworthy.

There are several links on the internet. All you need to look for is.. V.B.Kher, M.V. Kamath, SAI BABA JANMASTHAN and you will find a great deal.
Actually the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan has resisted popularising Rahata locations and even kept silent on the importance of the temple at Khushaldas's house and compound in Rahata, where Sai Baba sometimes rested.  THAT SPOT IS YET MAINTAINED EXACTLY AS IT WAS 150 YEARS AGO. ONLY THE WIRING HAS BEEN CHANGED AND IT HAS BEEN PAINTED PERIODICALLY. THERE IS AN ATTENDANT ALWAYS PRESENT.  NOT MANY KNOW ABOUT THIS.

The trustees of the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan apparently are only concerned with Shirdi  Sansthan properties  to get attention of devotees.  This is uncalled for.

After all, no one can underestimate or deny the unique significance of Shirdi Dwarkamai, Chavadi and the Samadhi Mandir as places that truly describe Sai Baba's sojourn on Earth.  These places will always be the most blessed, and  precious for every devotee.

  • Om Sai Ram !

For the benefit of the devotees wishing to visit the small Hanuman temple at Rahata ( only 8 KM from Shirdi ) within the compound of the old house of Khushaldas, a devotee Sai Baba was very fond of and sometimes visited him and stayed there...

When you enter Rahata, there is a market and Idd Gah from Shirdi side, on the right side there is a road to Sakori, and near that gate, which will be on the left side when you are going from Shirdi, the gate is enclosed in a big building so one has to be very careful when looking for this temple, once you enter the gate you can ask for the Hanuman Temple.
This is the temple where Baba used to stay while in Rahata, and while going to the temple, on the left side you have the house of CHANDRABHAN SETH, and there is a care taker appointed and he is always present there. You can enter the room, which is 150 years old and exists as it was then.
This information was received by me from Sairam Leeladhar, some one who kindly responded to my earnest quest for this place, as it has been mentioned in Sai Sat Charitra.

  • Sai Baba is not a mere holiest of the holy saints. He is GOD.   Only now we have photography and written texts, documents from those who were with HIM, close by.

I was never before been able to articulate my thoughts and beliefs, until I read " GOD WHO WALKED ON EARTH" a biography written by Rangaswamy Parathasarthy. You would do well to read one of its chapters ' A DAY WITH SAI BABA '

I'll end this comment with just this statement...

THANK YOU, GOD, BY SHOWING US HOW YOU CARE FOR YOUR DEVOTEES AND WHY YOU MANIFESTED HERE IN OUR WORLD, WHEN YOU DID.
YET, IT IS DIFFICULT TO IMAGINE GOD AS THE FORM LESS ONE. FOR NOW, I WILL CONCENTRATE ON OUR SAI BABA, FROM TOES TO HIS FACE, TO KEEP HIS FORM PERMANENTLY IN MY CONCIOUSNESS, UNTIL I PROGRESS FURTHER WITH MY SPIRITUALISM. I AM A MERE SIMPLE PERSON.

    OM SAI RAM.

  • For the earnest seekers amongst Sai Baba devotees, may I request that they read the book -GOD WHO WALKED ON EARTH by Rangaswamy Parathasarathy-   and SAI BABA talks to Mhalsapati his foremost greatest devotee ( The priest at the Khandoba Temple, Shirdi) about PATHRI.  This in the chapter .. The Fakir from Nowhere   PAGE 20.

This book is a non-fiction narration and an authentic biography  of SAI BABA .
