Om Jai Sri Sai Ram..
Dear Saloni Ji,
I can completely understand your concern and fear.
I am currently working in Australia (have been married approx 2 years) and don't have any kids. My cousin (sister) has been living with her husband and 3 kids (2 of them are girls and are in their late teens) here for the past 9 years or so.
When I meet their kids I feel so happy...they are so 'Indian'...their kids (though born and brought up in Australia) are more Indian than many of us. My cousin and her husband have given them such a beautiful upbringing and such wonderful values...it's amazing. They all (including kids) regularly do 'hawans' and poojas at home. I showed my cousin Sri Sai Satcharitra a few days ago and they asked their kids to touch the book with their forehead as a mark of respect and they all did it. They all regularly go to temples, eat Indian food at home etc...The kids do go out on parties, wear western dresses, but they know their limits. They call up and let my cosuin know when they expect to be late. The kids call their friends (girls and guys) and make them meet my cousin and her husband.
Touchwood...they are an ideal family. They have dinner together..go out and have fun..they have a big social circle too.
So, in a nutshell - if you teach and exhibit good values in front of kids, they do learn it...it has to be done since day one. Even though my cousin is working, but she has taken an easy job with small work hours. She picks up and drops the children from their school/college..she spends a lot of time with them on their studies, they watch Indian movies (DVDs) together etc.
My cousin does not keep her career in front of her family...to her the family comes first and then her career...
Hope this helps..rest have full faith in Baba Ji and tell Baba Ji's stories, narrate incidents from Baba Ji's life to kids, ask them to read Sri Sai Satcharitra etc...let ur kids be aware of God and inculcate faith in them for God.
May Baba Ji always be with you and your family..
God bless everyone
Gaurav
