Dear fellow devotees,
I wrote earlier that one must also know WHAT to ask of Sai. His “khajaana” (treasury) is open to everyone but one has to know WHAT to take from there. That is where ALL the answers and solutions to all your problems will be.
Here are a few interpretations from Satcharitra and Gurucharitra
1. When his beloved devotee Megha died, Sai accompanied the funeral procession and even cried like a mortal. But He uttered a sensational line at that time: Megha is gone. He has no re-birth. Sai’s tears were both of joy and sorrow; sorrow at losing a good devotee and joy that the devotee is free from the chains of karma (i.e.) no re-birth. Indirectly, Sai hinted that the greatest gift His treasury offers is merger with Parabrahma and that everyone should aspire for that gift.
2. Gurucharitra tells a story of a young disciple who worships his Guru faithfully and patiently. Pleased with his Guruseva, Lord Vishnu appears before the boy and wishes to give a boon. But the young boy amazingly says “No, Thanks, Vishnu! What can you give that my Sadguru can’t?” But Lord Vishnu prods the boy to take something and the boy asks “Then bless me that my love and devotion to my Sadguru grows everyday”. Amen.
So, please ask Sai for His Grace. Not material stuff. Because once you have that Grace, all others follow automatically.
Best Wishes,
= Sriram
