Chinchwad Post Office gets a Facelift, Shirdi Post Office next in Line.

PUNE: The Chinchwad (East) post office, which has been modernized by the postal department under the Project Arrow' for providing various services, was inaugurated on Wednesday. Speaking after the inauguration, Subhashchandra Zoradia, postmaster general, Pune division, said that post offices should concentrate on giving more facilities to the customers. Under the Project Arrow, various post offices are being modernised and being given a new look. The Chinchwad (E) office is the first in Pimpri-Chinchwad township to be modernised.
The second in the line is near Hindustan Antibiotics in Pimpri.
Services available at the modernised post office include postal money order (PMO), e-MO (electronic money order), i-MO (instant money order)
and e-payment facilities. Right to Information (RTI) applications are also accepted at the post office.
Speaking to TOI, P G Karne, assistant director, postal services, Pune region, said, "Pune, Satara, Solapur and Ahmednagar districts come under the Pune region of the postal department. In phase I of the project arrow, the postal department developed the Baramati post office.
In phase II, eight post offices including Pune city headoffice, Shivajinagar, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Karad headoffice, Rajgurunagar, Ahmednagar and Shrirampur post offices, have been modernised."
In the phase three, Chinchwad post office was developed. In the pipeline are Satara headoffice, Shirdi and
Pune General Post Office (GPO), and also post offices at Pandharpur, Solapur, Kopargaon, Phaltan, Parvati and Ahmednagar.
The look of the Chinchwad (E) office, located near Mahavir chowk, off Pune-Mumbai highway, has changed completely. The staff of the post offices has been provided red jackets. New computers, generators and UPS have been installed for giving non-interrupted services.
The counters have been made multipurpose counters.

7 Post Offices in Pune region to become Visitor-Friendly

PUNE: As many as seven post offices in Pune region will undergo a makeover with upgradation of its services and implementation of latest IT-enabled services in the next three months. All these offices have been selected under the Project Arrow, an initiative to deliver better services to customers and bring modernisation at the post offices.
Meanwhile, four post offices, including the general post office (GPO) at Pune, the post office at Chinchwad (East), the head post office at Satara and Sub Post Office at Shirdi has been upgraded recently under the project.
The post master general S C Jarodia on Wednesday told that the people visiting all these post offices will enjoy smoother and more efficient postal services like mails, delivery, savings bank, counter services and various IT-enabled services like e-Post, Instant Money Order Services, Speed Post track-and-trace facility.
He said, "Thirteen post offices under Pune region has been upgraded under the Project Arrow as of now. Visitors are experiencing efficient services at the counters at these offices. We are undertaking the third phase of the project." He added: "The new post offices, selected for the project, include Shivajinagar HO, Parvati SO, Pimpri post office, Kopargaon SO, Phaltan SO, Solapur HO and Pandharpur head post office."
Jarodia added that at the Project Arrow Post offices the citizens will receive their mails earlier. Citizens can book registered letters, money orders, speed post, parcels and will have saving bank transactions upto extended hours.
Elaborating on other initiates, Jarodia said new post offices will be started in two areas Mahmmadwadi and Vimannagar in the city soon. The places have been identified. The region has also initiated the process for recruitment for 72 clerical posts. The administration also has sent the list of 100 post offices from the region to initiate the services of sale of railway tickets.
