Why do we have Ego?

Rocks, Minerals etc do not react. There are no defense mechanisms.

Worms, Birds have little defense mechanisms to protect themselves.

Animals have better defense mechanisms than some Birds.

Humans have utmost defense mechanism in the Form of Ego that we have created more Nuclear bombs than understading our True power: Who we are?

When Animals mate, two males compete for one Female. One male overpowers the other and gets the female. At the time of overpowering  emotions and fierceness is exchanged between the Two but they are momentary. A Tiger or Dog after driving out his competitor doesn’t think about it. To it, fierceness is complete when it is successful or unsuccessful.

The tiger or Dog might get fierce only when it wants to mate again. It may be the same competitor or a different one, yet it exhibits fierceness, it doesn’t think Oh you have come again and gets more fierce !

Reactive mechanisms in Animals are always mechanical and it is triggered only at circumstances. The next stage in evolution was Categorization of Reactive mechanisms.

This is the development of Ego. Humans categorize their experiences as Joy, Over joy, Fear, Good, Bad, Ugly, yucky. This mechanism is built in for us from Birth. This is the job of Ego because Humans cannot live like Animals which cannot Foresee DANGER. We are here to Think, Plan and react. To think we need to categorize our experiences, process it; Ego does it.

A Child does well in exams, he gets a reward from Parents. He does well again next month, this time parents do not reward him due to Financial crisis. He starts complaining because he has categorized Performace mandatorily with Rewards. This is how parents develop the Ego in Children.

Why should we think and react because both are Un-Godly. To know God, We have to be in No-God state. To know the Value of Shade we have to walk in Hot sun. But God being the Master planner of All has kept the facility to Kill Ego in Ego itself.

"Baba said you remove the wall between us" The wall is ego and if we realize Ego for its purpose, the Ego will begin to disintergrate with the help of SadGuru Sai.

Saibaba was fond of burning Lamps in Dwarakamai. In reality, Lamp represents Body, Oil represents the Ego, Wick – Sadguru. When the body and mind surrenders to Sadguru like Saibaba, he lights up the eternal flame with his gracious looks, Wick (Sai) then sucks up All the Ego (Oil), and finally the wick (Sadguru) is also burnt leaving no traces. Sadguru knows he is God, by burning allegory, Sai explains that when you light the lamp of Sai in your hearts individual identities are completely removed and there is only God.  W don't see the wick - We realize Sadguru is not limited to what we see, and We also realize with his mercy that We are also not limited.

Every Worldly Action of Sai has a deep meaning to it. Our Master never does anything simply for the Sake of it!
Jai Sairam.

Past and Future exist in the Mind. Present is the Only Reality. Mind loves habitual waiting to deny the present. Meditation helps one merge with Nature. One no longer feels Separate from the Whole. It is easy to live with the whole than against it.
Regular Meditation suppresses unwanted thoughts and strengthens the Mind. A less noisy mind is so near to God.
