Decisions of Sri Ram& and his character- arising a lot of controversies are narrated below.
SRI RAM-The symbol of manhood- if we analyse Ramayan, there are incidents which shows Rama's controversial decisions & character.
1. Sambuk- A shudra who was doing tapasya was killed by Sri Ram. Reason being shudras were not allowed to do tapasya.
Same Sri Ram when he met Sabari had told her that irrespective of caste, position, gender etc, anybody can worship God. If cast and gender were not factors, then why Sri Ram had killed Sambuk who is a shudra for praying the God ?.
2. Bali was killed by Sri Ram in order to save Ruma (Sugreev's wife) from his captivity. Killing of Bali was a cowardly act done by Sri Ram because Bali was unarmed. Also there was no rivalry between Sri Ram & Bali.
Sri Ram want Sugreev & Ruma should lead a family life. So Rama was giving importance to family life.
3. When Ahalya was given moksha, Rama had advised her to lead a family life. Here also Rama was giving importance to family life.
4. Rama accepted Seetha after performing agnipareeksha and appreciated her in everybody's pressence. But the same Rama, after hearing the words of Bhadra, suspected her and dumped her into the forest. If it is defined as rajdharma, then was it not the duty of Rama to ask her what had happend at Lanka? It is a part of Rajadharma to examine a person who committed a mistake -to findout the truth. Without even asking Seetha and not even trying to find out the truth, he had simply sent her to the forest.
If Rama would have asked seetha's opinion, defenitely she would have told him that she would follow his decision, whatever may it be. (Because Seetha was such a modest and deciplined wife).
He had given importance to Ruma and Ahalya's family life and in the case of Seetha, he had distroyed the same.
There is no wonder modern Ramas divorce and re-marry.
5.After killing Ravana, Rama did not go himself to meet Seetha. Instead, he sent Hanuman. Also he did not ask Hanuman to bring her. He sent a message to inform Sita that Rama was hale and hearty. It was Seetha who told Hanuman her desire to see Rama. What did Rama say when he met Seetha?
According to Valmiki-
Rama told Seetha that I have got you as a prize in a war after conquering my enemy, your captor. I have recovered my honour and punished my enemy. People have witnessed my military powers and I am glad my labours have been rewarded. I came here to kill Ravana and wash off the dishonour. I did not take this trouble for your sake. Could there be anything more cruel than this conduct of Rama towards Seetha?
Again Rama continued- I suspect your conduct. You must have been spoiled by Ravana. Oh!daughter of Janaka- I allow you to go anywhere you like. I have nothing to do with you. I conquered you back and I am content for that was my object. I cannot think that Ravana would have failed to enjoy a women as beautiful as you are[Just think how much Seetha must have got hurt in these words of Rama}
6.If we analyse further, Valmiki records that Rama's daily life after he became King as follows.
Accordingly the day was divided into two parts-up to forenoon & afternoon.
From morning to forenoon he was engaged in religious rites. The afternoons he spent in the company of court jesters and in zenana. When got tired of jesters, he went back to zenana. Valmiki also mentiones how Rama spent his life in zenana.He used to drank liquor(soma ras) in large quantity and he saw to it that Seetha joined with him in his drinking bouts as a silent spectator. He used to sat in the middle Apsaras, Uraga, Kinnari
-all beautiful ladies drinking and dancing.Valmiki calls Rama as “Prince among women’s men”.
