    3rd January`2011

    Former Union Minister Shri.Arjun Singh visited Shirdi and had darshan of Shirdi Sai Baba's Samadhi.
    After the darshan, he was felicitated by the Executive Officer of Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan Sri.Kishore More.
    The Trustee of Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Shri.Rajendra Vikhe Patil
    and Superintendent of Sai Baba Sansthan Shri.Ramarao Shelke were also present on the occasion.

    Dear Rohit ji,

    It is indeed wonderful that so called celebrities seek the grace of our Sadguru.It is known that not one person can enter shirdi without Baba's permission nor leave it without his consent.This uplifts and strengthens my devotion to Baba. Shirdi is a holy abode and rules and regulations are just the same for these celebs as they are for the aam admi.The Shirdi Sansthan should realize this and apply this across the whole gamut of devotees who visit Shirdi. It is not the comfort that you are allowed to see Baba's samadhi up close that matters, but the tranquility and intense peace of mind that one gets when one is in Shirdi. The mere glimpse of Baba's samadhi and his benevolent idol bring immense joy to the true devotee.
    Baba graces all of mankind..or semantically speaking all of womankind as well. Such is his love for all his children.

    Shirdi: Miss Universe 2010 imena Navarrete Rosete of Mexico paid obeisance at the Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi, Maharashtra on Thursday.
    Said Jemena: "The cultures and civilizations of India and Mexico may be different but the 'Darshan' of Sai gives me a different type of energy".
    Miss Universe 2010 Jemina did a 'Namaste' with her palms joined while she offered prayers at the samadhi of Sai Baba,
    wearing her diamond tiara crown, mingled among the devotees and shook hands.
    Jayant Sasane, the chairman of Shirdi Sai Baba Trust, offered a statuette of Sai Baba to Miss Universe as a memento of affection.

    On Friday 28th Jan`2011, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi visited Shirdi, during his 3 day tour of Maharashtra.
     He flew to Shirdi in his helicopter and then walked barefoot for 100-150 meters to reach the Sai Baba Temple at 03:15 pm.
    Owing to the high security concerns for Rahul Gandhi, the SPG had vacated the entire Temple premises for an hour
    and Sai Baba's darshan was also stopped for the normal devotees.

    As thousands of other devotees were waiting outside the temple for Baba's Darshan,
    Rahul Gandhi very politely refused to be felicitated citing that it would not be justified for him
    to take time in the Samadhi Shrine while other devotees wait outside.
    He said for this reason itself he does not prefer going to any temples.
    Thus, he remained inside the Samadhi Temple for around 15 minutes only,
    wherein he performed a 5 minute puja/archana of Sai Baba's Padukas at Baba's Samadhi, followed by a small aarti.
    He is the fourth generation to visit Shirdi for Baba's darshan after Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi & Sonia Gandhi.

    Thousands of pilgrims and locals gathered outside the venue to catch a glimpse of the Congress leader.
    Stepping out of the temple, Gandhi greeted them with folded hands.
    He also shook hands with a couple of Sai Baba devotees who were awaiting their turn for a Darshan outside the Temple.
    Accompanying him was Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President, Shri.Manikrao Thakre.
    Chairman of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust Jayant Sasane, Mrs.Rajshri Sasane,
    Trustee of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust Dr.Eknath Gondkar, Suresh Wable, Ashok Khambekar and
    the President of Shirdi Nagarpanchayat Alka Shejwal were also present on this occasion.

    Even though Sai devotees wanted to have a glimpse of Rahul Gandhi too, they yet want the Shirdi Sansthan to plan out
    some arrangements so that whenever such VIP/Celebrities Visit Shirdi for Baba's Darshan,
    the other devotees don't have any inconvenience.
