From 01st - 04th April`2013,
a Free Cataract Surgery Camp`2013 was organized jointly by the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust
and the "Lahanubai Amrutrai Gondkar Charitable Trust"`Shirdi at the "Shri Sainath Hospital" @ Shirdi
In the memory of his mother, the Vice President of Shirdi Municipality, Shri.Shivaji Gondkar
sponsored for the Cataract Surgeries of 125 poor people.
He borne all the expenses of the operation plus the post-operative care & medicines,
including the food and stay at the Hospital. He said that he preferred to do such charities
and help the poor rather than doing the dogmatic rituals done in the memory of the departed souls.
All the patients were operated free by Dr. Sunil Sontakke who said that
more and more people should come forward and organize such medical charitable works.
To be noted that on 15th August`2011,
Shri.Shivaji Gondkar had donated Rs.1 Lakh in the memory of his mother
by giving Scholarship to 3 Toppers of 10th & 12th Standard Students of the Shirdi Saibaba School.
