On 15th Oct`2013,
the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan received a one-and-a-half page anonymous letter written in Hindi,
threatening to trigger a blast @ the Shirdi Shrine exactly at 09:11pm on 09th November`2013.

The envelope bears a post office stamp, which indicates that the letter was posted from Shirdi.
The anonymous letter has also threatened to set off explosions on the same day
 at 3 other places including the famous Khajrana Ganesh temple in Indore.
The letter said the blasts will be triggered to avenge the killing of one Khalil & his relative in Indore.
“Khalilbhai’s death shall not go waste,” says the letter.

The Shirdi Trust authorities informed the Ahmednagar police and handed over the letter to them.
while beefing up the security at and around the Sai Baba shrine in Shirdi.

The letter also mentioned a Car's registration number in which the bombers will escape after the attack.
On verifying if such a car exists, the Shirdi Police found that, such a Car did exist
and was registered in a mans name staying in Vijaynagar`Indore, having his office in Khajrana.
They soon left for Indore to interrogate that man.
There were a couple of other points mentioned in the letter that are being verified
for which the Police has formed two teams to investigate the matter.

The Shirdi Temple has increased security at the temple and has imposed a across the board ban
on its employees / devotees carrying mobile phones in and around the temple.
Commandos have also been deployed at the temple apart from the Temple's security.

In October`2013, the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan had received a anonymous letter written in Hindi,
threatening to blast the Shirdi Shrine exactly at 09:11pm on 09th November`2013.
And despite all Investigations, the efforts of the Shirdi Police haven't been able to make any headway.

Earlier too, the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan has received such threatening letters,
all of which proved to be a hoax.

But just two days after 03rd Nov`2013 - the Diwali Festival got over,
doing the grapevine are Rumor's that Shirdi will be totally Shutdown on 09th Nov`2013 !
It is being rumored that due to security reasons, Shirdi's sensitive areas like
the Pimpalwadi Road, Sai Complex & the South Side of the Sai Temple
will all be totally shut down on 09th Nov`2013.

And because of these rumors spreading, in just 2 days after the huge Diwali rush,
the number of devotees visiting Shirdi has declined considerably,
in-turn resulting in a huge drop in the sales/business of the Shop-keepers in Shirdi.

Denying these rumors the Shirdi Sansthan's Executive Officer Shri.Ajay More has said that the daily
routine programs of the Temple will be carried on, as before, on all days, including 09th Nov`2013.
He said that nothing has or will be changed or shutdown and appealed to the people to not to believe such rumors !

He added that in lieu of the increased terrorist activities happening at many other places,
the Sansthan had already taken appropriate and strict security measures.
A Press-note in this respect, was also released on 02nd November 2013, Strictly Prohibiting the
carrying of mobile phones, any electronic items, carry bags or any kind of weapons into the Shrine or it's premises.
The devotees will be checked thoroughly with Metal detectors before being allowed to enter the Shrine,
for which, under the supervision of the Temple's Chief Police Inspector Shri.Datta Pawar,
an extra force of policemen have been deployed at all the 4 Main gates of the Sai Temple.
Later, he made an humble request to all devotees and employees to co-operate in this regard.
