  • - THE GREAT GLASS WALL OF SHIRDI -
    20th Sept`2012

Shirdi Sai Baba never differentiated between anyone in regards to Caste, Creed, Rich or Poor etc.
He himself never kept distance between himself and his devotees.
With his simplicity he had removed all such barriers & that is why even today he has innumerable followers worldwide.

But now, in Shirdi itself there is a huge barrier created between Baba and his devotees.
Fiberglass barriers have been put up all over the Temple, making it difficult for devotees to have their proper darshan.

All places where Baba sat, stood or cooked etc have been barred for the devotees.
All articles used by Baba himself have also been barred for the devotees.

    1) In Samadhi Shrine:
Sai Baba's Samadhi now has Fiberglass barriers on both sides and the center too,
because of which the devotees can't even touch Baba's Samadhi for Darshan.
These Fiberglass barriers are put up every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and on all festival days too.

    2) In Dwarkamai:
    a) the place where Baba used to stand very often along the boundary wall of Dwarkamai Masjid
had been earlier caged with steel frames and now along with the steel frame, it has been covered with Fiberglass.
Baba's Grinding Stone, Baba's Chulli (semicircular earthen hearth or oven) where he used to cook,
the small red pole against which Baba used to rest his back, the statue of Shyam Karna - Baba's horse etc,
all which had been enclosed in steel frames, have been now enclosed in Fiberglass permanently.

    b) Baba's Dhuni has also been totally covered with metal with tiny holes all over,
for the heat of the ever-burning Dhuni to escape. Forget having Darshan of Dhuni-maa, now one cannot even see inside.
The Gold Padukas next to the Dhuni & infront of Baba's portrait is also now encased in Fiberglass.
During huge rush of devotees, no devotee is even allowed to go ahead the three steps of Dwarkamai,
inside towards the Nimbar, next to the the earthen Pot from which devotees drank water & Baba's sack of wheat.

    c) The Sacred stone on which Baba used to sit and the Gold imprints of Baba's feet on it, are now also Fiberglass encased.
So devotees have to satisfy them selves by touching the glass encasing from out and have darshan.

    3) In Baba's Gurusthan:
Baba's Gurusthan is also now not accessible for the devotees.
First steel fencing was done around the boundary  and now it is all enclosed with Fiberglass.
So the devotees can now have Darshan of Gurusthan by only bowing down from outside the steel fencing.

    4) The Sai Baba museum:
Baba's museum displaying most of the articles used by Baba was first covered with steel fencing,
has now too been Fiberglass encased along-with the steel fencing.

In other words, every place or article with which devotees associated Baba have now become like showpiece for them.
They can only see but not touch & if touching them would harm the articles, then didn't gold-plating them cause any harm?
In all, these Fiberglass barriers are proving to be a Great Wall between the devotees and their beloved Baba !!!

But when any VIP, Celebrity, Ministers etc arrive for darshan at Shirdi, they not only get to have proper
darshan of Baba's Samadhi without any Glass barriers but they also get to do a small Arati of Baba.
To such an extent that when one actor who was portraying the part of Sai Baba in a movie,
the doors of the Dhuni-maa were thrown open for him when he arrived at Shirdi for him to have darshan
and was also given the opportunity to make a offering of Ghee into the Dhuni.

When questioned, the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan cites Security reasons due to the ever growing crowds.
But the point is that, even earlier there were huge crowds coming to Shirdi for darshan
but there never was a need for such metal and glass encasing of Baba's things.
Or maybe, is it because the extent of pure Gold now being used to cover up almost every article of Baba,
has caused security fears for the Shirdi Trust ?

  • Om Sai Ram.

The fibreglass walls at the Samadhi mandir cannot separate the devotess from Baba. In fact, the inner wall of dualism separates Baba from a devotee The wall that we need to remove is the one between the inner self and the Sadguru. Even if we don't visit Shirdi, Baba can be touched in spirit anywhere.  Baba said that He is not confined to Shirdi, and that He is everywhere.

Praise and glory be to Baba.

    Jai Sai Ram.
