Bayajabai was the foremost devotee of Baba long before HE showed any miracles to the people of Shirdi.
Everyday she used to bake chapatis and go trekking long distances in the jungle in the hot sun to feed him.
Her devotion to Baba is one of the finest examples in the concept of Bhakti.
Before his Maha-Samadhi in 1918,
Baba gave his Jhola (Cloth Bag or Wallet) with a few Coins to Tatya (Bayajabai's Son).

This is the same Jhola (Cloth Bag) which despite being empty, whenever Baba used to put his hands in it,
he would remove Gold/Silver Coins from it, which then he would give it away to his devotees.
Till date no one has ever understood this miracle of Baba,
as to how & from where were the Gold/Silver Coins coming out of an Empty Cloth Bag.
The Income-Tax authorities also after learning about this miracle had come to find out it's source
and then levy Tax on Baba’s income but failed to do so as they could not find anything. Instead, they started
levying Tax on the devotees to whom Baba's would give these daily doles like Tatya, Bayyaji & Bade Baba.
This Sacred Cloth Bag or Jhola (Wallet) is now in the possession of
Shri.Mukundrao Bajirao Kote (Grandson of Tatya and Great Grandson of Bayajabai).
He has very carefully preserved it together with the Coins, in a glass box and regularly offers prayers to it.
