The Inauguration of the Shirdi Airport at Kakadi Village might get delayed again,
because at the time of laying the Airport foundation stone itself,
the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), which is in charge of the Airport
had made certain written promises to the villagers adjacent to the Kakadi village.

But till date none of these promises have been adhered to as negotiated,
despite the fact that the work on the Airport is coming to its finishing stages,
with its inauguration planned for May`2014.

The Promises made by MADC to the Villagers were:
1. Plastering and repairs of roads in villages Kakadi, Malharwadi and Gunjalwadi.
2. Making provision for electricity and water resources for the next 25 years in the adjacent villages.
3. Building school as well as a proper office building for the Grampanchayat.
4. Employment opportunities for the village youth @ the Airport or Sai Baba Sansthan`Shirdi.

So, the concerned Kakadi villagers held a meeting on 28th Nov`2013
to decide if they should allow the work on the ongoing Shirdi Airport to continue or not.
Accordingly, a notice was issued to this effect to the concerned MADC officials,
which if goes in vain, a Red Signal will be given to the on-going work at the airport.

Finally on 03rd Dec`2013 the villagers gathered at the Airport Site & protested with a 'Halla Bol'
bringing the on-going work of the Shirdi Airport to a Halt until their demands were met.
On 4th Dec`2013, several meetings & talks with Shirdi Sai Baba Temple's Executive Officer Shri.Ajay More,
Local MP Bhausaheb Wakchaure & other Concerned authorities also failed.
So while the Airport authorities have hinted to get the work re-started under police protection,
the villagers will decide only after the final meeting with the districts higher authorities on 27th Dec`2013.
