My wife and I were traveling in a public tram and eating some candies on the way. There was an elderly lady sitting just opposite us and she was watching us while we were eating the candies. Suddenly she asked if she could have some “lollies” as well and that too those in my wife’s purse. My wife was amazed because in her mind she was thinking of offering some candies (in her purse) to her too.
Just to clarify – it is very unlikely for a stranger to ask for sweets/any food item in Melbourne; we haven’t ever seen this in the last 9 months that we have been here.

It seemed as if she read my wife’s thoughts. I put my hand in my jacket pocket and found that I had a ‘lollypop’ which I had bought from a handicapped person in the city market a few days back. I gave the ‘lollypop’ to the lady and my wife gave some candies to her too. She enjoyed the sweets and then after enjoying the ‘lollypop’ for a pretty long time, she threw the remaining portion of it outside the tram window and got off at a tram stop. That’s the last we saw of her…
Could it be Sri Sai Baba in a woman’s form?? This is his method of seeking ‘bhikhsa’.. Also, seems like the ‘lollypop’ was in my jacket pocket just for her!
