  • guru-rupi deha aatmaa pandurang | kelyaa yeyi ranga ekyaa thaayi ||

    guru-rupi - in the form of guru, Guru's form
    deha - body
    aatmaa - soul
    pandurang - Lord Panduranga (Lord Vishnu), God
     
    kelyaa - on doing, on imagining
    yeyi - comes
    ranga - colour, essence
    ekyaa - in one
    thaayi - place
     
    On imagining, Guru's form as the body & Lord Panduranga (God) as the soul, the essence comes in one place.  

    ekyaa avheritaa ek na ye haataa | doghaan-chi yogya-taa saarakhi-cha ||

    ekyaa - one of them
    avheritaa - on ignoring
    ek - one , other
    na - does not
    ye - come
    haataa - in hand
     
    doghaan-chi - of both
    yogya-taa - worth, value
    saarakhi-cha - really equal
     
    On ignoring one of them, the other does not come in hand. The value of both (Guru & God) is really equal

  • guru aani deva yaat kelyaa tuti | dukhaa-chi naroti yeyila haataa ||
     
    guru - Guru
    aani - and
    deva - God, Lord
    yaat - in between these
    kelyaa - on doing, on imaging
    tuti - seperation
     
    dukhaa-chi - of sorrow
    naroti - begging bowl
    yeyila - will come
    haataa - in hand
     
    Between Guru & God, on imagining seperation (considering them as seperate), the begging bowl of sorrow will come in hand.

    ganu mhane raahaa saavadha yaa-saathi | guru jaga-jethi eka-rupa ||23||

    ganu - Ganu
    mhane - says
    raahaa - remain
    saavadha - careful, alert, vigilant
    yaa-saathi - for this reason, hence
     
    guru - Guru
    jaga-jethi - Lord of the world, God
    eka-rupa - one and the same, of the same form
     
    Ganu says, remain careful, for this reason. Guru & God are one and the same.

    sai baba aani sadguru vaaman | he na doghe bhinna ek-rupa ||

    sai baba - Sai baba
    aani - and
    sadguru - Sadguru
    vaaman - Waman
     
    he - these
    na - not
    doghe - the two
    bhinna - different
    ek-rupa - one and the same, of the same form
     
    Sai baba and Sadguru Waman*, these two are not different. They are one and the same.

    bhaava sadhakaan-no thevaa doghaan-paayi | pari vithaa-baai gaavi vaache || 

    bhaava - real feeling, devotion
    sadhakaan-no - O seekers, O devotees
    thevaa - keep, have, preserve
    doghaan - both
    paayi - for, unto
     
    pari - but alongwith, and also, but at the same time
    vithaa-baai - motherly Lord Vitthal
    gaavi - should be sung, sing
    vaache - by speech
     
    O seekers, keep devotion for both. But (alongwith) sing about motherly Lord Vitthal by speech

    (*Sadguru Waman - Wamanshastri Islampurkar, Dasganu's Guru, who gave spiritual initiation (Anugraha) & mantra to Dasganu. He showed Ganu the path to Shirdi & told him that he was not different from Sai Baba of Shirdi.)

  • sai - vaamanaa-che karaave pujan | raakhaa-vaa sanmaan bhupati-chaa ||

    sai - vaamanaa-che - of Sai Vaman
    karaave - should be done, do
    pujan - worship
     
    raakhaa-vaa - do uphold
    sanmaan - the honour
    bhupati-chaa - of the king (ruler)
     
    Do the worship of Sai-Waman. Do uphold the honour of the king (ruler).  

    parmaarthaa-ta bhakti vyavahaari niti | saunsaari virakti ganu mhane ||24||

    parmaarthaa-ta - in spiritualism
    bhakti - devotion
    vyavahaari - in worldly dealings, in worldly trade
    niti - right conduct, morality, ethics
     
    saunsaari - in worldly life
    virakti - dispassion, disinterest
    ganu - Ganu
    mhane - says
     
    In spiritualism, there should be devotion, In worldly dealings, right conduct. In worldly life, dispassion, says Ganu

  • guru-paatha-che he abhang pancha-vis | japataa hoy naash paatakaan-cha ||

    guru-paatha-che - of Guru Path
    he - these
    abhang - sacred hymns, poetry compositions, stanzas
    pancha-vis - twenty five

    japataa - on doing japa of, on reciting
    hoy - happens
    naash - destruction
    paatakaan-cha - of sins

    On reciting these twenty five sacred hymns of Guru Path, happens the destruction of sins.

    guru-che pavaade gaataa moksha laabhe | nakaa maru dambhe nir-arthak ||

    guru-che - of Guru
    pavaade - songs of glories, poetrys of glories
    gaataa - on singing
    moksha - Liberation, Moksha
    laabhe - is attained, is got

    nakaa - do not
    maru - die
    dambhe - by virtue of false pride, by virtue of unfounded ego
    nir-arthak - in vain, worthlessly

    On singing the songs of glories of Guru, Moksha (Liberation) is attained. Do not die in vain, by virtue of unfounded ego.

    sai-mahaaraajaan-cha - of Sai Maharaj
    dharuniyaa - holding
    haat - hand

    taraa - stay afloat, survive
    bhava-abhdhit - in the ocean of worldly existence
    budu - sink, drown
    nakaa - do not

    Holding Sai Maharaj's hand, survive in the ocean of worldly existence, do not drown

    saain-chyaa icche-ne hote avaghe kaahi | ganu-kade naahi bol tyaa-chaa ||25||

    saain-chyaa - of Sai baba
    icche-ne - by wish
    hote - happens
    avaghe - all, entire, every
    kaahi - thing

    ganu-kade - with Ganu
    naahi - not
    bol - doership, say
    tyaa-chaa - of that

    By Sai baba's wish, happens everything. The doership (say) of that is not with Ganu.

    kiti ghevu he janma kotyanu-koti | kshamaa-shaanti-chaa to nase lesh poti ||

    kiti - how many, so many
    ghevu - shall i take
    he - these
    janma - births
    kotyanu-koti - crores & crores
     
    kshamaa- forgiveness
    shaanti-chaa - of peace
    to - that, any
    nase - is not
    lesh - small amount, trace of
    poti - in the stomach, in the inner self
     
    How many of these crores and crores of births shall i take. (Yet) there is not any trace of peace and forgiveness in my inner self.

    ase raahila vyaapuni moha chittaa | malaa yaatuni sodavi sainathaa ||1||

    ase - is, has 
    raahila - remained
    vyaapuni - pervading, filling, occupying
    moha - attachment, longing (for worldly objects)
    chittaa - the mind, the intellect
     
    malaa - me
    yaatuni - from these
    sodavi - rescue
    sainathaa - O Sainatha
     
    Attachment has remained occupying my intellect. Please rescue me from these, O Sainath

  • shivaa-chyaa bhaye kaam jo kaa palaalaa | chalaa-yaa aamhaa vaata-te yetha aalaa ||

    shivaa-chyaa - of Lord Shiva
    bhaye - by fear
    kaam - lust god, cupid
    jo - which, one, who
    kaa - one
    palaalaa - ran away
     
    chalaa-yaa - to tease, to oppress
    aamhaa - us
    vaata-te - feels that , it appears that
    yetha - here
    aalaa - has come
     
    By fear of Lord Shiva, the lust god, the one who ran away, it appears that he has come here to tease us.  

    (The Puranas reveal that the god of lust had become proud that he overwhelmes each & everyone, by his power of lust. He tried to grip even Lord Shiva by his power. Having become angry with him, Lord Shiva burnt him to ashes. Hence he is known by the name, KAAMARI , the destroyer of KAAM (Lust). )
     
    pinaaki-pari hovuni tu samarthaa | malaa yaatuni sodavi sainathaa ||2||

    pinaaki-pari - like Pinaki (Lord Shiva)
    hovuni - becoming
    tu - you
    samarthaa - O all powerful one, O omnipotent one
     
    malaa - me
    yaatuni - from these
    sodavi - rescue, free
    sainathaa - O Sainatha
     
    Becoming like Pinaki* (Shiva), O you all powerful one, Please rescue me from these, O Sainath

    (*Pinaki - Lord Shiva is known by this name, since he carries a bow named Pinak.)

  • dur-aashaa maj naacha-vi thaayi thaayi | mhanuni manaa sthira-taa hot naahi ||

    dur-aashaa - distant hope, unreasonable desire, too much desire
    maj - me
    naacha-vi - makes wander, makes dance
    thaayi - place
    thaayi - place
     
    mhanuni - hence
    manaa - unto the mind
    sthira-taa - stability, peace, composure, calmness, steadiness
    hot - happen, come
    naahi - not
     
    Too much desire makes me wander from place to place. Hence steadiness does not happen unto the mind.

    tujhe paay tyaate sadu-paay aataa | malaa yaatuni sodavi sainathaa ||3||

    tujhe - your
    paay - feet
    tyaate - in that case, under such a circumstance
    sadu-paay - good solution, good remedy
    aataa - now
     
    malaa - me
    yaatuni - from these
    sodavi - rescue, free
    sainathaa - O Sainatha
     
    Your feet are a good solution, under such a circumstance, now. Please rescue me from these, O Sainath

    prem - love, fondness
    te - that, it
    faar - a lot, too much
    lote - comes
     
    jasaa - just as
    gardha-baa - the donkey, the ass
    ker - dirt
    to - that, it
    god - sweet, delightful, pleasant, pretty
    vaate - feels
     
    Fondness of the world, comes a lot unto me, just as the donkey feels dirt as sweet
     
    budaalo bhavi shighra devuni haataa | malaa yaatuni sodavi sainathaa ||4||
     
    budaalo - if i drown, if i sink
    bhavi - in the ocean of worldly existence, in the world
    shighra - quickly
    devuni - giving
    haataa - hand
     
    malaa - me
    yaatuni - from these
    sodavi - rescue, free
    sainathaa - O Sainatha
     
    If i drown in the ocean of worldly existence, quickly giving your hand, Please rescue me from these, O Sainath

    kshamaa - forgiveness
    shaanti-che - of peace
    bhaatuke - infant-eatables, whilch are light & palatable
    de - give
    dinaa-si - unto the helpless, unto the poor
     
    jase - just as
    nena-tyaa - ignorant, not knowing, who does not know anything
    lekaraa - child
    maay - mother
    poshi - feeds, brings up
     
    Give the infant-eatables of peace and forgiveness unto this helpless, just as the mother feeds her child, who does not know anything.

    niti-chi ghuti paajavi he samarthaa | namaskaar majhaa tulaa sainathaa ||5||

    niti-chi - of morality, of ethics, of right conduct
    ghuti - infant drink, usually made of milk & sugar
    paajavi - make me drink
    he - O
    samarthaa - all powerful one
     
    namaskaar - Obeisances, salutations
    majhaa - my, mine
    tulaa - unto you
    sainathaa - O Sainath
     
    Make me drink the infant-drink of morality, O all Powerful one. My Obeisances unto you O Sainath

    chitaa - mind, intellect
    saananda - in bliss , in happiness
    thevi - keep

    kadaa - ever
    vaasane-chyaa - of bad instincts, of evil tendencies
    na - no, not
    paashaat - net of, noose of, knot of
    govi - get caught

    Always at all times, keep my mind merged in bliss. Let it never get caught in the net of bad instincts (Vasanas)

    jagi aamute tu pitaa maay traata | namaskaar majhaa tulaa sainathaa ||6||

    jagi - In this world
    aamute - for us
    tu - you
    pitaa - father
    maay - mother
    traata - saviour, protector

    namaskaar - Obeisances, saluatations
    majhaa - my, mine
    tulaa - unto you
    sainathaa - O Sainath

    In this world, for us, you are the father, mother and the saviour. My Obeisances unto you O Sainath

    kashaa-maji - wherein, in what
    te - that, the
    hit - welfare, well-being
    maajhe - my, of mine
    kale-naa - i do not understand

    kale - is understood
    je - what
    manaa - to the mind, by the mind
    techa - that itself
    tyaa-si - unto it (the mind), by it
    vale-naa - does not get implemented, does not get executed

    Wherein the welfare of mine lies, i do not understand. What is understood by the mind, that itself does not get executed by it

    asaa jaaha-lo traahi traahi samarthaa | namaskaar majhaa tulaa sainathaa ||7||

    asaa - like this
    jaaha-lo - i have become
    traahi - shattered, distressed
    traahi - shattered, distressed
    samarthaa - O the all powerful one

    namaskaar - Obeisances, saluatations

    Like this i has become thoroughly distressed, O the all powerful one. My Obeisances unto you O Sainath

  • tulaa yogya vaatel te tvaa karaave | shishu-ne pityaa-laa kase shika-vaave ||

    tulaa - unto you
    yogya - appropriate
    vaatel - feel, is felt
    te - that, whatever
    tvaa - you
    karaave - do

    shishu-ne - child can, infant can
    pityaa-laa - to the father
    kase - how
    shika-vaave - teach, give lessons

    Whatever is felt appropriate unto you, you do that. How can a child (I) give lessons to his father.

    ganu-chi sadaa vaahi chittat chintaa | namaskaar majhaa tulaa sainathaa ||8||

    ganu-chi - of Ganu
    sadaa - always, forever
    vaahi - carries, bears, you carry
    chittat - in the mind, in the intellect
    chintaa - care, worry, concern
