    Sunita dear very nice Bhajan thought of Kabir.  I consider it as a Essence of Bhakti in this single Bhajan.  See I have also posted this in hindi version in Spiritualindia.org.  I rarely come in this forum now.  Ultimately our forum has to switch over to new forum there.  Now I started getting familiar with the new set up in spiritualindia forum.  Everyone come there and see for yourself.

    Dear Ramesh Bhai!

    It is a co-incidence indeed! I love Kabir ji's bhajans and dohas. This one is my favorite. I woke up this morning remembering it and wanted to share it on this forum. I was unaware that you had already posted it on the other site. However, this duplicaton of posting only goes to prove the similarity in liking or thoughts. I hope you don't insist that I plagiarized your post [:)]

    I think this fax paus is unavoidable till we all move to the new site. I rarely visit that..I just love to be where the majority of our family members stay currently [:)]

  • Jai Sai Ram!!

    A young sage lived on the outskirts of a village. He was highly revered by the villagers and all those who passed his small hut. One day, an unmarried girl of the village got pregnant. She was beaten up by her relatives who demanded that she reveals the name of her man. The girl named the sage. With that the hell broke loose. A huge mob gathered outside the sage's hut.

    At that time, the sage was deep in meditation. The angry crowd did not wait. They barged into his hut, dragged him out, and beat him up mercilessly. The sage did not speak a word. When the crowd got tired of beating him, they left him lying in dust. A young boy who used to serve the sage came to his rescue. He treated his wounds and helped him till he healed fully.

    After some days, the girl could not bear her guilt. She went to the village panchayat and confessed that she had lied about the father of her child. She told them that the sage was innocent, but she named him to save her lover. The villagers felt remorseful. All gathered outside his hut again. They went in one by one, prostrated before him, and sought his forgiveness. They took him outside his hut with great respect, garlanded him, and repeatedly praised him. The sage was quiet again. He stood unfazed, with everyone at his feet. He did not speak a word. After sometime, the crowd dispersed and the sage resumed his meditation.

    The boy who served the sage was surprised at his behaviour. He asked him, "Master, why were you silent on both the occasions. First they came and thrashed you. Then they came and worshipped you. What kept you quiet all the while?" The sage said, "I was the same all the time. Only they changed from time to time."

    The sage fascinates me. His message is valuable. He chose to remain equanimous, both in times of public respect and abuse. He did not react, even if he had the reasons to do that on both the occasions. By staying that way, he remained above the whims and fancies of people. Both respect and disrespect, praise and criticism, love and hate were the same for him. The changing behaviour of people did not affect his inner peace and equilibrium. That is indeed a liberated way to live.

    Dear Sunita Raina, Sai Ram!

    A very nice post.

    Both respect and disrespect, praise and criticism, love and hate should be taken as the same.

    The changing behaviour of people towards us should not affect us in the least.

    We should maintain our inner peace and equilibrium come what may.

    That is indeed a liberated way to live.

  • Jai Sai Ram. That is a wonderful message in the story Sunita ji. May Sai bless us with the required virtue to be at peace.
    Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding.

  •  life needs some colors

    i want to paint..........
    i said to my lord
    colors and love on all the walls
    i want to change this pale grey world..
    to that in whose (creation)beauty i ll be doused(contented)

    i look outside and see to my fear
    not one life there is,but all concrete
    tall building...and runty traffic...thriving
    which have but only replaced the earthly life?

    i told him
    lord i ll buy some color...
    and paint these forms
    with green and brown
    and spring some life
    from none over here...
    so we can contend
    atleast for few years..

    but he said to me
    why look elsewhere...
    when u have urself so very near
    which is but much void of these hues
    why dont u color ur self inside(within)
    and let the light imbues out
    into this wide world .....

    SUNITA JI

    It is really superb thoughts which everyone should read and understand.

    We have gone through this and feel it is a test which has a unique method. In our own words, we put it that our holy father tests us his children till the time you are totallly drown the last breath when you you feel BABA where are you or give me strength to face it then he just pulls you out and really fondles us in his holy hands

    JAI SAI RAM

    Jai Sai Ram!!

    Difficulties are tests from Baba. Tests of our character, endurance and faith. We may wander in the wilderness for long, but the promised land waits only for those who can remember that a difficult time is just a test. Like a potter on the wheel, Baba molds us, shapes us, and builds our character. Putting us through a bad experience or time is His way of refining us. A test well qualified brings us higher up, closer to Him. So, when in a difficult spot, let good attitude shine and impress the Master. The suffering may be intense, pain unbearable, and the heart may be cracking under existential pressures. But remember: It is just a test. A great opportunity to win the Master's heart. So, put on a smile on your face and spring in your footsteps when you feel that your world is falling off at the bottom [:)] Because, it is just a test.

    Saint Kabir ji wrote this beautiful bhajan:

    Moko kahaan doondhay re bandhay
    Main toh tere paas main
    Moko kahaan doondhay re bandhay..

    (O Man, where do you search me when I am so near to you)

    Na tirth main, na moorat main
    Na ekaant niwaas main
    Na mandir main, na masjid main
    Na kashi kailaas main

    (I am not in pilgrimage, I am not in an idol, I am not in solitude, I am not in a temple, I am not in a mosque, I am neither in Kashi nor in Kailaasha)

    Na main jap main, na main tap main
    Na main  barat upaas main
    Na main kiriya karm main Rahta
    Nahi yog sanyaas main

    (I am not in chants, I am not in penance, I am not in fasts, I am not in rituals, I am neither in yoga nor in sanyaasa)

    Khoji hoi, turant mil jaaon
    Ek pal ki talaash main
    Kahe kabir suno bhai sadhu,
    Main toh hoon vishwaas main

    (If you search Me, you will immediately find Me in just in a moment. Kabir says, O brother, I (meaning HE) is in 'trust' alone.)

    May Baba bless all my brothers and sisters with an undying, unshakable, and absolute TRUST in Him, now and forever!!

    Total surrender to Baba means dying to one's 'self'. This idea is wonderfully presented in this anonymous poem:

    When you are forgotten, neglected, or purposely set at naught, and you don't sting or hurt with the oversight, but your heart is happy being counted worthy to suffer for Sai ;
    That is dying to self.

    When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your advice disregarded, your opinion ridiculed, and you refuse to let anger rise in your heart or even defend yourself, but take it all in patient, loving silence;
    That is dying to self.

    When you lovingly and patiently bear any disorder, any irregularity, any annoyance; when you can stand face to face with waste, folly, extravagance, spiritual insensibility, and endure it as BABA did;
    That is dying to self.

    When you are content with any food, and offering, any climate, any society, any solitude, any interruption by the will of God;
    That is dying to self.

    When you never care to refer to yourself in conversation or record your own good works or itch after commendation; when you can truly love to be unknown;
    That is dying to self.

    When you can see your brother prosper and have his needs met, and can honestly rejoice with him in spirit and feel no envy, nor question God, while your own needs are far greater and you are in desperate circumstances;
    That is dying to self.

    When you can receive correction and reproof from one of less stature than yourself and can humbly submit, inwardly as well as outwardly, finding no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heart;
    That is dying to self.

    May Baba bless all with the ability to 'die' in true sense in order to win His grace!!
