The truly devotional and spiritual practice suited for this Iron-age (Kâlî-yuga) is the constant repetition of the name of the Lord of Love.

When the fruit grows out of the flower,the petals drop off themselves.
so,when the divinity in you increases,
the weakness of your human nature will all vanish of their own accord.

The iron must be heated several times and hammered a hundred  times before it becomes good steel.
Then only it becomes fit to be made in to a sharp sword and can be bent in any way you like.
So man must be heated several times in the furnace of tribulations and hammered with the persecutions of the world  before he becomes pure and humble.

The young monkey clings to its mother when she moves about.
The kitten on the other hand mews piteously,and the mother grasps it by the neck.
If the young monkey lets go its hold of its mother,it falls and is hurt.
This is because it relies upon its own strength.but the kitten runs no such risk,
for the mother herself carries it from place to place.
such is the difference between self-reliance and entire resignation to the will of god.

Give up every thing to him,
Resign yourself to him, your troubles and sorrows will be at an end.
Then you will come to know that everything is done by his will alone

As dry leaves are blown hither and tither by the wind,without any choice of their own,
so those who depend upon god move in harmony with his will, and leave themselves in his hands with perfect non-resistance.

Be not a traitor in your thoughts. Be sincere. Act according to your thoughts and you shall surely succeed. Pray with a sincere and simple heart, and your prayers will be heard.

Do you know how intense our love of God should be ? The love that a devoted wife possesses
for her beloved husband, the attachment that a miser feels for his hoarded -wealth, and the clinging
desire that the worldly-minded foster for the things of the world—when the intensity of your heart s
longing for the Lord is equal to the sum of these three, then you will attain Him.

Extreme longing is the surest way to God-vision. One should have faith like an innocent child,
and a child's longing for its mother.

Where does the strength of an aspirant lie? He is a child of God, and tears are his greatest
strength. As a mother fulfills the desires of a child who weeps and importunes her, so does the Lord
grant to His weeping child whatever he is crying for

Once the son of a certain man lay at the point of death, and it seemed that none could save his
life. A Sadhu, however, said to the father of the dying son, " There is but one hope. If you can get in a
human skull the venom of a cobra mixed with a few drops of rain-water under the constellation of the
Svati star, your son's life can be saved.' The father looked up the almanac and found that the
constellation of the Svati would be in the ascendant on the morrow. So he prayed, saying, ' O Lord, do
Thou make possible all these conditions, and spare the life of my son." With extreme earnestness and
longing in his heart, he set out on the following evening and diligently searched in a deserted spot for a
human skull. At last he found one under a tree, and holding it in hand, waited for the rain, praying.
Suddenly a shower came, and a few drops of rain were deposited in the upturned skull. The man said
to himself, Now I have the water in the skull under the right constellation." Then he prayed earnestly :
" Grant, O Lord, that the rest may also be obtained. In a short time he discovered, not far from there, a
toad, and a cobra springing to catch it. In a moment the toad jumped over the skull, followed by the
cobra whose venom fell into the skull. With overwhelming gratitude the anxious father cried outr "
Lord, by Thy grace even impossible things are made possible. Now I know that my son s life will b'e
saved.' Therefore I say, if you have true faith and earnest longing, you will get everything by the grace

There are pearls in the deep sea, but you must hazard all perils to get them. If you fail to get at
them by a single dive, do not conclude that the sea is without them. Dive again and again, and you are
sure to be rewarded in the end. So also in the quest for the Lord, if your first attempt to see Him
proves fruitless, do not lose heart. Persevere in the attempt, and you are sure to realize Him at last.

A new-comer to a city should first secure a comfortable room for his rest at night, and after
keeping his luggage there, he may freely go about the city for sightseeing. Otherwise he may have to
suffer much in the darkness of night to get a place for rest. Similarly, after securing his eternal resting
place in God, a new-comer to this world can fearlessly move about doing his daily work. Otherwise,
when the dark and dreadful night of death comes over him, he will have to encounter great difficulties.

A man who finds all the hairs of his body standing on end at the bare mention of Srî Hari's name, through sheer ecstasy, and who sheds tears of love on hearing the name of God, he has reached his last birth.

You see many stars in the sky at night, but not when the sun rises. Can you therefore say that
there are no stars in the heavens during the day? O man, because you cannot find God in the days of
your ignorance, say not that there is no God.
