जब मेघा का देहांत हुआ तो सब ग्रामबासी उनकी अर्थी के साथ चले और बाबा भी उनके साथ सम्मिलित हुए तथा उन्होंने उसके मृत शरीर पर फूल बरसाये । दाह-संस्कार होने के पश्चात् बाबा की आँखों से आँसू गिरने लगे । एक साधारण मनुष्य के समान उनका भी हृदय दुःख से विदीर्ण हो गया । उनके शरीर को फूलों से ढँककर एक निकट समबन्धी के सदृश रोते-पीटते वे मसजिद को लौटे । सदगति प्रदान करते हुए अनेक संत देखने में आये है, परन्तु बाबा की महानता अद्घितीय ही है ।................................................

What is the most important thing one could get from Sadguru Sainath? He Himself said that although He is willing to give from His open coffers, most are not inclined to seek it. After every desire is answered and the truce between needs and wants established, Sadguru begins His work on the chosen ones. The most competent Sainath has innumerable ways that he chooses according to the nature of the devotee.
God vision, the realization of the supreme, the purpose to any quest, realization of the self, knowledge of the absolute, these are some of the descriptors of the dormant quest one might have in the spiritual path. The satsang with Sadguru is never passive! It is not a choice!

Is Saibaba a mere Guru or God himself? This is a stale question as any reader of books on Saibaba can say that Baba appears to those in whatever form they chose. Stories abound where Saibaba appeared as Vitthal, Shiva, Dattatreya, Jesus and other forms of divinity. In spite of this, is there a question whether Saibaba is just a siddha purusha, someone who acquired supernatural powers due to saadhana or He the absolute beyond all siddhis? Is He the God? What is God? What are God's attributes? None is able to describe this. Hence, even the question whether Baba is God or not, is not completely legitimate and at the best can only be a relative rhetoric! To make this simple, if one would choose any form of God within one's confine, describe the attributes of such a form, Rama, Shiva, Jesus, Krishna, Vishnu, Allah or Buddha, all those attributes can be found in the perfect master of Shirdi. If God is defined as an object of faith, the faith will reveal God's form.

 If Baba were to pass away, how hopelessly adrift I would be and how I would fare then. To this Baba answered that He would be with me when and wherever I thought of Him. That promise He had kept up before 1918 and has been keeping up after 1918. He is still with me. He is still guiding me. This was about 1910-11, when my brothers separated from me, my sister died, there was a theft in my house, and a police enquiry; all of these incidents had upset me very much.When my sister died my mind was much upset. I did not care for life and enjoyments. When I went to Baba, He pacified me with His upadesh and made me eat a feast of Pooran Poli at Appa Kulkarni's house, and made me get pasted with sandalwood paste. There was a theft in my house. A thirty year's friend of mine stole my wife's jewel-box including her auspicious nathi (nose-ring). I wept before Baba's photo. The next day the man returned the jewel-box and prayed for pardon.

Sai Baba lived in Shirdi for about sixty years and during this long period, He did the business of grinding almost every day - not, however, the wheat alone; but the sins, the mental and physical afflications and the miseries of His innumerable devotees. The two stones of His mill consisted of Karma and Bhakti, the former being the lower and the latter the upper one. The handle with which Baba worked the mill consisted of Jnana. It was the firm conviction of Baba that Knowledge or Self-realization is not possible, unless there is the prior act of grinding of all our impulses, desires, sins; and of the three gunas, viz. Sattva, Raja and Tama; and the Ahamkara, which is so subtle and therefore so difficult to be got rid of.

This reminds us of a similar story of Kabir who seeing a woman grinding corn said to his Guru, Nipathiranjana, "I am weeping because I feel the agony of being crushed in this wheel of wordly existence like the corn in the hand-mill." Nipathiranjana replied, "Do not be afraid; hold fast to the handle of knowledge of this mill, as I do, and do not wander far away from the same but turn inward to the Centre, and you are sure to be saved."
