Subject: My experience at Sai Amrit Vani on 9th February
I had been looking forward to participating in Sai Amrit Vani pooja
that is held on Thursdays at the residence of Mrs. Veena Gupta and
Mr. Ashok Gupta in Delhi. I was able to do so on 9th February and I
want to share my personal observations and experience.
I reached the Gupta home a little earlier than I should have, a good
time being around 10:30 am since the recital does not start till
11:05 am. Since it is a home, it is probably NOT reasonable to go
earlier than that since Mrs. Gupta does her pooja and meditation
prior to Sai Amrit Vani (which I did not know prior to arriving at
the home).
I was one of the fortunate 16 to participate in the offering of a
sweet that was placed in front of Baba prior to reciting Sai Amrit
Vani. Arrangments for the offering of sweet/or other item has to be
made prior to arriving at the Gupta residence and this has to be
approved by them. One cannot walk in with sweets and expect them to
be part of the offering as it is very difficult to logistically
include them in boxes that have already been premade for distribution
after the pooja. Needless to say that if you sponsor a sweet, YOU
MUST BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT FOR SAI AMRIT VANI.
The item that I could chose was Gulab Jamun as the other items had
already been chosen by other devotees.
Mrs. Gupta was very kind in showing me the various pictures and idols
in the small temple set up in the house and with various symbols and
words written on the pictures. I saw an idol of Shirdi Sai Baba
sitting on the large stone with honey dripping from the right foot.
There were Baba feet from which amrit was flowing, which was later
offered to devotees as prasad and this had sandal wood fragrance to
it.
I was wearing a mala with Shirdi Sai Baba pendant on it. I gave it to
Mrs. Gupta for blessing and she prayed with it in her hands and
placed it in the temple. There was another devotee who had brought in
two idols of Baba which were also placed in the temple. Within
minutes one could see vibhuti all over the Idol of Baba that was
placed in the temple.
After the Sai Amrit Vani, bhajans and Aarthi was done, Mrs. Gupta
took the box of offering placed in front of Baba and gave out the
respective prasad to those who had sponsored it. Each one of the
sixteen got the item he/she had sponsored. I had sponsored Gulab
Jamun and when Mrs. Gupta gave it to me - I was thrilled to see a
chunk of it missing and it gave me a tremdous sense of contentment. I
considered it a blessing from our Lord Shirdi Sai Baba. A box of
prasad was also given to me with all the sixteen items and there was
quite a bit of vibhuti on the box. A part of of the the items in the
closed box was also missing. I could see parts of our offerings on
the lips of Baba on the pictures, which were not there prior to the
recital of Sai Amrit Vani. When Mrs. Gupta gave me the mala and the
pendent, the pendant was covered with vibhuti and there was a flower
which appeared in Mrs. Gupta's hand which she did not have when she
picked up the pendent. Parts of our offerings from almost the entire
box were taken, some more than other and we all felt blessed.
I felt very peaceful and believe that Baba showered his blessing on
all of us. I cannot explain the phenomena and beleive that it is
reconforming what Baba had stated 'You look at me and I will look
towards you' Surrender, have love and devotion and I am here to Bless
you and look after you.
In addition to being spirtual and great devotees of Baba, Mrs. Gupta
and Ashok Gupta were great hosts and extended their hospitality to
all of us who were at (Baba's house) their home. I am very grateful
for this opportunity which I will cherish for my lifetime and intend
to go there and participate in Sai Amrit Vani, whenever I am in
Delhi. I thank the Gupta family from the bottom of my heart.
May Baba bless us all
