Thru this forum i would like share with you all the incident which was taken place at Nagarsol (Shirdi)
Last Sunday i.e 11th Dec 2011, at Nagarsol Railway Station around 600 + were waiting near main entrance to board Ajanta Express around 8.45 PM (the only place where you will find lighting and shelter and few vendors). Around 9 PM announcement was made about arrival of the train and the small LED sign boards displaying the Coach numbers, then passenger start moving to respective places, since we got reservation in compartment S2 which was at rear side of the station (almost end of the Railway station) which took 5 minutes to walk with luggage, (I have noticed old people and small kids struggling to walk such distance in short time), there were no proper lighting nor infrastructural facilities like proper lighting, shed and benches nor boundry wall, plat form is constructed above 12 feet from near by ground level, (even it rains passenger are forced to stand in rain to board the train).
Train arrived all are eager to enter into respective compartments due to cold weather out side, all of sudden from S2 coach we heard one lady shouting for help, thief pulled her mangalsutra and chain valuing 1.5 Lacs (5.5 tolas) and ran towards field which is 12 feet slop, her husband chased and jumped from plat form and cought hold of thief in the process he lost credit cards. Wallet, tickets in the fields not able to trace and got badly injured with bleeding and right leg got fractured, only mangalsutra could able to recover from thief. With in two minutes train started. Neither guard nor TT’s were carrying first aid kit.
We send message to Aurangabad to arrange ambulance, which was not reported even after 1 ½ hour with the help of locals one private ambulance were arranged. The family wife, husband and two kids, were totally in shock. I came to know this was the 2nd incident in the last 10 days.
Thru this forum I appeal to the Sai Sansthan of Shirdi to take up the issue with railways and ensure proper security and infrastructure facilities for the Sai Devotees. Daily around 5000 passenger board and alight at Nagarsol Railway station. Also improve bus stand at Shirdi and place earmarked for buses for Manmad / Nagarsol Railway station and run buses before train timing to facilitate the passenger and protect from the mercy of taxi / Cab drivers who demand as per their wish
