    Continuaiton....

Then in the after-noon Baba sent for all and Deo also, and said that His words might have pained the old man (Deo) but as he committed the theft, He could not but speak out. Then Baba asked again for  Rs.12/- Deo collected the amount, paid it and prostrated himself before Him. Then Baba said to him - "What are you doing?" "Nothing" replied Deo. Then Baba - "Go on daily reading the Pothi (Jnaneshwari), go and sit in the Wada, read something regularly every day and while reading, explain the portion read, to all with love and devotion. I am sitting here ready to give you the whole gold-embroidered Shella (valuable cloth), then why go to others to steal rags, and why should you get into the habit of stealing?"

Deo was much pleased to hear the words of Baba, for He asked him to start reading Pothi (Jnaneshwari). He thought that he got what he wanted and that he could read the book with ease thenceforth. He again prostrated himself before Baba and said that he surrendered himself to Him and that he should be treated as a child and be helped in his reading. He realized then what Baba meant by 'stealing the rags'. What he asked Balakram constituted the 'rags' and Baba did not like his behaviour in this respect.

As He was ready to answer any question, He did not like him to ask others and make unnecessary enquiries and therefore He harassed and scolded him. Deo thought that He really did not 'harass and scold' him but taught that He was ready to fulfill his desires, and there was no use asking others in vain. Deo took these scoldings as flowers and blessings and went home satisfied and contented.

    TO BE .....CONTD.

    Continuation....

The matter did not end here. Baba did not stop with only issuing an order to read. Within a year He went to Deo and enquired about his progress. On 2nd April 1914, on Thursday morn, Baba gave him a dream-vision. He sat on the upper floor and asked him whether he understood the Pothi. "No" answered Deo. Baba - "Then when are you going to understand?" Deo burst into tears and said, "Unless You shower Your grace, the reading is mere worry and the understanding is still more difficult. I say this definitely." Baba - "While reading you make haste, read it before Me, in My presence." Deo - "What shall I read?" Baba - "Read Adhyatma (spiritualism)." Deo went to bring the book when he opened his eyes and was awakened. We leave the readers to imagine what ineffable joy and bliss Deo felt after this vision.

Though, there may not be similarity of what Mr.Deo experienced with what we all underwent in starting the Parayanam, but, the teaching that is taking Baba's permission becomes a common experience. Baba has repeated 'HIS teaching to Sh.Deo’ that is we, the children of Baba should get everything from him - AS HIS PRASAD  ONLY.

HE has thus  blessed us before the Parayanam itself. WHAT A WONDERFUL AND LIKE EXPERIENCES ARE THEY.

BABA! PLEASE SHOWER YOUR GRACE ON US ALWAYS.

  • Dear SaiDevotee,

Vasanth story was interesting. See the power of BABA in him. How come a small boy like vasanth got the idea of letting BABA thoughts into other chidrens in the class. I should say BABA want all the students to perform well. He also satisfied Vasanth by getting him the best group. I am also sure that other students will also be like vasanth in the future if they really belive BABA as their father, tatha or their saviour.

BABA gives us all the power to face the problems in this worls. Save us from all disasters. Let us be your good childrens.

IF YOU TRUST IN SAIBABA HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN ANY TIME

    Dear Prasannaj ji, Sai Ram!

You are indeed true. Vasanth has been taken totally into Baba's fold. Actually, his mother is a servant maid and father a mason. Though, they have lot of financial problems his mother Saras is keen in educating him with all the dificulties. The boy is basically a god fearing.

Recently, Vasanth suffered from high fever. I checked his temperature which read 103. Saras took him to doctor and got medicines etc. In the night before sleeping he, on his own put a little vibhuti on his forehead and a little in the mouth - a boy of 10 year old doing on his own is somehting great, I feel. When his mother asked him why he did that, he replied "I felt it some how". Soon after he became normal,  on a wednesday evening he wrote on 108 bits of paper in tamil "OM SAI RAM" rolled them into thin pipes and demanded his mother to make a garland of them. The next day,Thursday, when Saras went home after finishing her work in all our places, she found this garland on Baba's statue (I gave her a 10 inch high white plastic  statue of Baba to her) and a chocolate near his feet which Vasanth had offered as naivedyam before leaving to school.

It shows the devotion that little heart has got for Baba.
Baba ! Bless Vasanth to achieve all his dreams.

    HAPPY BABA'S DAY

Dear Blessed Sai Devotees, Sai Ram !

Some of the experiences  which Baba gave me are no less than those of the residents of Shirdi when Baba was available with them physically. I may be forgiven on this Thursday – Baba’s day, if my words sound too much of a boasting. But, indeed my experiences reveal the same to me though I donot deserve so much of Baba’s love showers.

The one and only reason why I am mentioning all these experiences in this forum is, to let everyone know that whether we are with Baba or not, he is the CARE TAKER of this universe, as is evident from all my experiences.  Once again THANKS to Ravi Bhayya.

"SNAKES" : The word itself makes us feel a little frieghtened. Can anyone  imagine a snake appearing in front  all of a sudden in the house. You would n't even know what to do.

I had seen snakes during my childhood when the snake catchers would bring them in a closely woven bamboo basket in the streets and exhibit them. We would watch them peeping out through  windows OR standing behind our elders holding them tight. Accompanying mummy to the Naga devatha temple on Nagachaturthi to offer milk (knowing very well that there would be no snakes ) was also enjoyable.  In a busy city life, we get to know about them only on TV channels or when we take the kids to a snake park on a Sunday picnic. In Chennai, we did make several such picnics to the snake park in Guindy – a unique one.

After we shifted to our own house in 1997, we did notice few mongoose crossing the roads and we confirmed that there might be snakes in the 2-3 stretches of open grounds (which were in some legal disputes) that were a part of our residential area. We have one such big open ground just at the back of our house and another opposite to our road. We were told that several snakes keep coming and going from one ground to the other and that they would not harm, most of them being non poisonous. But there are quite a few highly poisonous ones  too. Infact, I was a firm believer of the scientific theory that most of the people die out of shock than the snake bite.

Every year, during the telugu month of Karthika (starting from the next day of Deepawali )  daily in the evenings I light  5 diyas and keep 2 of them near the main entrance of the house. That was 2001 Karthika Maasam (month).  I had a maid by name Shanti. Since I come home after 7 pm, she used to come in the evening at 7 pm and work till 8 pm. That day I came very late around 7.30 and thought Shanti would have gone seeing the house locked (my husband comes very late and I pick up sai from the crèche on my way home). I got fresh while Sai (11 yrs. old) was watching TV in the hall. Meanwhile, at 7.45pm  Shanti turned up saying she got late at home and started her work. I prepared dinner and  went to pooja, lighted the diyas , and with the diyas in a plate came to the hall singing to give aarti to Baba’s photo in the hall and found the TV switched off. I saw Sai busy doing homework in the bedroom sitting on the bed.

After giving aarti to Baba I turned to go to the main entrance and found a dark snuff coloured snake twirling very fast towards the TV. For a moment, I was shocked. That was the exact place where Sai was sitting and watching TV few minutes ago. I donot know how I gained courage and presence of mind – I shouted at Sai to come out of the room since the snake appeared to be changing its direction and I thought it might enter the bedroom  anytime. Sai came out and the snake did change its direction and went inside the bedroom. Then I shouted “snake...Shanti...snake…call some one”.

She was cleaning the vessels in the back yard and at once came with a long stick and started to hit the floor with it  and giving out a hissing sound. We saw the snake going beneath the cot and dressing table etc. moving very fast. I told her not to venture anything but call some gents from out side. I was perturbed while Sai was curiously watching.  Finally, in this hitting background, one cloth bag fell down from the corner where it was hung and the snake went into the bag. Immediately Shanti hooked the handles of the bag with the stick in her hand and threw it in the backyard.

Then we rushed all the vessels inside and locked the back door. I finished my diya business, called up my husband. He rushed back within 20 mts. Again we all went  to the backyard to check and found the bag empty. The snake had gone by then.

Does n’t this appear like a play by Baba ?

Shanti coming late, Sai going to bedroom leaving the TV, Me watching the snake without going out singing aarti as I would always do, Falling of the bag from some corner, The snake entering the bag, and Shanti skillfully managing to hook the bag to the stick. It took a lot of time for me to come out of shock.

But, why all this Baba had to do? He could have comfortably made the snake not enter the house at all. There is a future wherein Shanti would not be there and Kavita has to take the role of Shanti. How to prepare Kavita to face such consequences on her own ? So Baba has played this rehearsal.

I shall post how I played my role in another occassion of a Snake entering our house with Baba's permission soon.

    HAPPY BABA'S DAY

    Dear Sai Devotees,

As I have told you, I never had any sight of snakes in my daily routine life until I shifted to my own house in Chennai. After the terrifying experience of that snuff snake entered our house, I reported to our Reiki Master (to whom I used to go for aura cleansing and later became family friends ) and sought protection.

The next year, again in the month of Karthika (Telugu month), on on eevening, suddenly there was a group of people shouting in front of our gate . We were actually talking busy with our Father-in-law's brother who came to Chennai for a medical check up along with his escort.

On hearing these shoutings continuously,we went and saw one big snake, which was just entered our house; hence the shoutings to alert us. By the time we were to peep out,  the snake had comfortably entered the verandah where Sai's bicycle was kept. We dared not come out.

My hub and the escort of my FIL went out from the back entrance and started hitting on the ground through the grill of the verandah to send the snake out. I started praying Baba literally shouting 'Baba' 'Baba' 'please go'. It was a bigger snake and started to raise up as and when they were hitting the ground. I told them not to kill it and try to see that it goes out if possible.

Even my FIL supported me. But, my hub's efforts to drive the snake were in vain. I told him to come inside and give a gap of an hour and see whether it goes on its own. Now, I prayed to Baba that it should go away back to its destiny on its own from our verandah by the time we finish our dinner.

After our dinner, we saw our verandah without the snake.

    This was my second experience.

    Dear Sai Devotees,

I am narrating all my experiences where in Baba has saved me and my family from Snakes and simultaneously made us understand throughly that snakes are also like any other living being who do not harm us unless we try to do something to them. Infact, some of my experiences which I would be posting later will reveal how the Naaga came as a GOD to our house.

Now, coming to the present one, it happened during Christmas Holidays of 2002. Our stay in Chennai has really blessed us with lot of advantages that I feel fortunate that Baba brought me here. We could make a number of trips to Tirupati (sometimes 2-3 times a year) while we hardly could go once in 5 years when we were in Hyd'bad. Similarly Sri Kalahasti.

During Dec'2002, one day my husband went to Srikalahasti for darshan ( Lord Shiva ) starting early in the morning and return by evening by his byke. He returned by 5 pm and I was opening the gate when Saraswati and her sister-in- law were about go out side (after they finished their work in my house) and my husband was almost coming in. Suddenly both (saras and her sil) shouted because of which, my husband got a jerk and something fell on the petrol tank of the byke and further fell down. All this happpened within a second. It was a baby snake.  Had they not shouted which gave a jerk to my hub, it would have fell on my Hub's head straight. It was about 2 feet long; a good snake, I mean a poisonous one.

We found on the shed, a crow staring at the snake. Actually the crow was carrying the live snake and it fell in our house. It didn't know where to go while my hub asked me to get a stick or a rod. We all 3 pleaded that it should not be killed that too he was returning from Sri Kalahasti - a  place of high worship of Lord Shiva - whose ornaments are snakes. Anyway, screams, requests everything went within seconds and with a stick, mu hyb successfully drove it into the open ground opposite to our house.

Though, we did not take Baba's name even for once in this incident, you all must have by now undestood the magical and invisible hand of Baba in this episode.

    Dear Sai Bandhus,

It gives me immense pleasure narrating all these experiences of Baba being with me and my family and I feel indebted to this Mandir forum which has given me this oppurtunity.

On another occSPAMion, we were busy chatting at about 8.00pm and suddenly heard some screams outside our house. When we were about to come out, people shouted 'donot come out....donot come out...'. They found a snake on the road and started to chase while it entered our house. Since our main gate was locked, they started shouting to alert us. That was it.

This time it was a green snake which is not poisonous but it bites the eye ball leading to permanent loss of vision. We searched for it and found its tail hanging at the end of the petrol tank of my hub's byke. It got wound in such a way that we couldnot see its head. It was also trying to get into some hole in vain. Since the byke was parked behind the car, it went there to hide from people.

After about half an hour, we decided to leave it there. By Baba's grace, the next morning it was not found anywhere.

    Dear Blessed Sai devotees,

Once, much earlier to the experiences I posted above, on one night my husband and my uncle were chatting standing near the main gate. They were so much involved that they notied a small snake entering the house only after a mason going by that way alarmed them.Immediately they stoned it to death with the help of that mason and threw it out. By the time, we ladies went out, they were throwing it out.

I felt very bad that they killed the snake. Moreover it was a Tuesday
being an auspicious day for snakes ( Naga Devatha) and Swamy Subrahmanya ... ( I don't mean that snakes can be killed on other days). I felt very bad. I told both the gents to pray to Naaga devatha seeking apologies and take a vow that they would observe vrat on 3 consecutive Tuesdays and visit the temple of Naaga / Subrahmanya if possible.

My unlce obliged while, my husband right away dismissed my proposal saying he did not kill the snake intentionally and it was only a safety measure hence, he need not observe any thing. I can not argue with him nor he has any value for this kind of things. So I observed vrat on  3 Tuesdays. Because, it is believed that Naaga Dosham chases the generations and mainly effects the progeny. Many couples suffer childlessness due to Naaga Dosham and perform Naaga poojas for its nivritti so that they are blessed with children. I strongly beleive this. Later, I prayed to Baba to see that no snake enters my house and even if it happens, no such killing should happen.

    Continuation........

Later, I ensured that no snake was killed in my house. I would rather didn't mind locking ourselves in side the house till the snake leaves the place.

The only thing I started to do was shout at the snake with folded hands saying   "Baba..Baba..Pl go ... Take back the same route..Baba plz go ...taking back the same route...". Praying to Baba I would say only the above words. And I found in most of the experiences the snakes would just turn back and slowly go back taking the same route.

But, in one instance, it didn't happen. It was a Friday and my husband was out of station. Only we both were at home. Sai was 11 or 12 year old and this time our TV was shifted to the first floor hall. She was in the first floor. The stair case opens into the verandah from where thru the main door we enter into the hall in the ground floor.  I wanted to call sai down for dinner and saw a snake of about 6 feet long  - snuff coloured entering very fast into the verandah. I closed the staircase door within a second and rushed into the hall(GF) and closed that door too.

The snake was in the verandah. Then I got a doubt whether Sai comes down ? So I gave a buzzer to her and she lifted the phone. I told her about snake and asked her to call someone if she sees anyone outside thru the windows of first floor. Mean while I continued to pray Baba to send the snake out. This was a quite big snake and I can definitely not venture to do anything. At the same time I can not even leave it like that since Sai has to come down to have our dinner. Moreover, I was yet to lock the main gate and I cannot avoid it since only two of us were staying the house that night.

    Continuation.....

Luckily, the snake took a U turn and went outside the verandah and proceeded towards the water sump instead of the main gate. I at once called Sai down and pushed her inside the GF hall. For few minutes the snake was not seen. So Slowly, we both came out and found it on the other side of the Water Sump. Literally, there was no one on the road. I continued to pray Baba to send someone who would drive the snake out to one of the open grounds.

At this moment, one daily wager, on his way home was pSPAMing by and we sought his help. Unfortunately, despite my repeated requests to him, he beat the snake with some tool in his hand and it died very much in the premises of my house.

I controlled my tears and told him to help me further in arranging  to burn the body of the snake which he agreed and did. After everything was over, Sai and I came in and I wept a lot and sought apologies from Baba and told him that I have no other go than undergo whatever punishment is ready for me.

The next day, my (maid) Saras came and after knowing all this she advised me to perform pooja in a Naaga temple as a Parihaaram and to satisfy my self. I told Baba that "some a thing (a very difficult one)" should happen within 2 days. Then, I will take that you have apologised me and confirmed what Saras said i.e, to do pooja.  Otherwise, I take that I would have to undergo whatever punishment given by Baba myself. Though, the snake was killed despite my warning and requesting him, it died in my house and I deserve the punishment.

Within 2 days the "some thing" rather the proof that I had asked for did happen and I had arranged for Abhishekam and Archana for the Naagamma in the Naaga temple within the next Friday.

Thus, Baba has saved me and Sai from the snake once again.

    Dear Sai Devotees,

Today, Saraswati has just now told me her experience and this is something very blessing. For the past three weeks she has been postponing to start Nav Gurvar Vrat. I gave her all details and also how she can do with a minimum amount and promised to arrange for her the yellow cloth.  Yesterday, I shouted at her that she has no interest or involvement and that she is continuously postponing on some or the other reason. Then she told me that she was not feeling like starting it till her husband completes his trip to Sabarimala in Feb'07 ( he is already in Sabarimala Diksha).

Daily she keeps a small glass of milk in the pooja rack and takes her tea before her routine starts. Yesterday, after finishing her work in my house in the evening, she went home and washed feet and hands and read few pages from Sat Charitra and then placed a small plate with sugar remembering the discussion she had in my house about Nav Gurvar Vrat, and prayed to Baba to have it and got busy with her household work. Night when she saw, there was an impression of one finger in the sugar. She felt very happy and thought she would tell me this.

Today, in the morning, when she was about to place milk in pooja rack, she found impression of three fingers as though Baba has taken one or two pinches of sugar.

Though she was sure that no one in the hosue would touch it, she has asked Baba to show some (something her personal) evidence that he had only taken it, and she was blessed with the proof too.
