Title: My wife wants take me to Shirdi
Post by: Akshay on November 21, 2005, 07:46:44 AM
Dear all Shirdi Sai Baba devotees,

I am not a strong believer in Shirdi Sai Baba, but I'm married to an Indian lady who is from her childhood a strong believer in Shirdi Sai Baba. She always says that Shirdi Sai Baba is her Baba, her father. She read the Sai Satchitra and she says that Shirdi Sai Baba have divine powers. Next year I'm going to India, and my wife says that she will take me to Shirdi to take the blessings of Shirdi Sai Baba. Because I have been grown up in a European country (I live in The Netherlands) and I'm not so familar with Shirdi Sai Baba, my wife says that she will not force me to go to Shirdi. My wife also says to me that a priest of a Shirdi Sai Baba temple in India had told her that, there will come an time that I will be a more stronger believer in Shirdi Sai Baba than my wife !
Now, I'm thinking what shall I do? Shall I go to Shirdi with my wife (who is a strong believer in Shirdi Sai Baba)??? I hope you all Sai devotees can give me an advice??? So pleace, dear Sai devotees, what shall I do???

SaiRam Akshaya ji

Welcome to our SAI online mandir.

You are indeed SAI blessed child hence able to log on to this forum.

Going to Shirdi! That is awesome !

No one gets  A CHANCE it even if they are an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai.

I AM SURE YOU MUST HAVE HEARD  ONE OF SAI'S SAYING.

"Whoever puts his feet on Shirdi soil, his sufferings would come to an end. "

Baba said, "I draw to Me My man from far off, or even across the seven seas,

like a sparrow with a string fastened to its feet."

He also made it clear  that if he were not Baba's man, he would not be attracted to Him

and give a darshan.

Baba also said that He is not the three cubits long body that lived in Shirdi but He

will manifest wherever there is true longing and devotion.

The above statements may appear to contradict unless one sees the real context in which

they are uttered or used.

Realizing Baba in places other than Shirdi is a true pursuit of Baba in the attempts to

see Baba in every being.

However, visiting a pilgrim center such as Shirdi

is a recommended practice for a  TRUE DEVOTEE.

I would say that you just grab the chance and have a good darshan

and you will find the differance.

SAI BLESS YOU ALWAYS AND BLESS YOUR WIFE.

Hope you have a great darshan and kindly get back to us  regarding your experience.

Jaisairam!!!!!!!

OMSAIRAM!Akshay ji,Welcome to our Sai Mandir of our dearest Ravi bhai.
Though you are not a Sai Devotee..........Sai baba has said ........

My people do not come to me of their own accord; it is I who seek and bring them to me.

However distant my people may be, I draw them to me just as we pull a bird to us with a string tied to its foot.

Those who think that Baba is only in Shirdi have totally failed to know me.

Without my grace, not even a leaf can move.

http://www.saibaba.ws/quotes/shirdi100sayings.htm

11 Sayings of Baba

Whoever puts his feet on Shirdi soil, his sufferings would come to an end.

The wretched and miserable would rise into plenty of joy and happiness, as soon as they climb steps of my Samadhi.

I shall be ever active and vigorous even after leaving this earthly body.

My tomb shall bless and speak to the needs of my devotees.

I shall be active and vigorous even from the tomb.

My mortal remains would speak from the tomb.

I am ever living to help and guide all who come to me, who surrender to me and who seek refuge in me.

If you look to me, I look to you.

If you cast your burden on me, I shall surely bear it.

If you seek my advice and help, it shall be given to you at once.

There shall be no want in the house of my devotees

Sai baba will himself draw you to Shirdi.

Your wife will just become a medium..................Only Sai Knows his leelas..........

Welcome to our Sai family Akshayji. Well, Subhaji and Dipikaji have already said it all ! You might not be a strong believer..but if Baba wills it, HE will surely make you go there and that too whole heartedly. You must be really blessed to get a chance like that.

I very very strongly belive in Baba..but unfortunately, all this while, though I always feel HIS presence around me and experience many many miracles, HE has never called me to Shirdi so far ! I always make plans to go to Shirdi, and some thing or the other comes up and the plan does not work. Iam desparately hoping HE will call me to Shirdi soon. That's my prayer these days. Ofcourse, that and the other constant prayer is, HE should always be with me..forever..

Welcome Akshay Ji,
Praveen ji is right. You are lucky. I was in India couple of months back and could not make it to Shirdi. but, let me tell you one thing do not think that if you went you wanted to go or if you did not go it was your wish. Nothing will happen without his (Sai) wish. If it is time and he wants it you will be his devotee. In fact you are otherwise why would you be here on this beautiful Sai temple among all of us Sai Devotees. Let him decide. Leave everything upto him.

Jai Sai Ram!

dear Akshya ji
Om sai ram,
I am mahesh from Delhi,I am really happy to read your msg. regarding visit to shirdi. As above sai blessed members have already submitted their  views, I agree with them only I would like to add few lines and ofcourse my own experience that 'NO ONE CAN REACH SHIDI UNTILL OR UNLESS BABA CALLS BY HIMSELF MAY BE YOU MIGHT GO ALONE OR WITH YOUR WIFE IT IS ALL UP TO BABA'S WISH.'
What Baba said that I am not only in Shirdi, he is omnipresent I am sure if you do not go to shirdi then    shirdi(baba) will come to you. I  request you to read profile ot My dear sister Astid, she has never been to shirdi but she met baba in German and I believe she is more blessed by baba than the devottes who have been to shirdi. Hence I pray to baba  for you to go shirdi but how he calls it is all up to him.
akshay ji you are luky that you have wife who is totally surrendered  to baba and through her you came to know about shirdi and sadguru Sainath Maharaj, there are devotees who had never heared of shirdi and baba now they are the strong believer  and have faith in baba.
At last I advise you to do what your wife says  may be baba is sending  his msg. through her. In case you donot want to go donot go  and pray baba he will come to you.
Remember "Sai is beyond  space, time and thoughts. He is in form and also formless. So leave to Baba do think much and believe in God what soever name you like.baba is in all names.

Dear all Sai devotees,

Thanks for your replies. Thanks for all the information about Shirdi Sai Baba. I would like to tell you all more about the situation of me. A couple months ago I am married to an Indian lady. When I firtst saw our marriage card, I was a little bit in shock, because (besides Ganesh Bhagwan) there was also a photo of Shirdi Sai Baba on our marriage card. So I ask my wife why she did that. Why have she print a photo of this Baba on my marriage card, and I ask her who this man is? In my whole life I have only heard one time of Shirdi Sai Baba, and that was when I saw the Bollywood picture Amar Akbar Anthony. There was a song in this film "Shirdi wale Sai Baba, aya hai tere dar pe sawale". I told her that I know Shirdi Sai Baba only from this song. So my wife told me that Shirdi Sai is an avatar of God.
When I was in India, I saw also a temple of Shirdi Sai Baba. My wife didn't ask me to enter to this temple, because she was afraid that perhaps I will say NO. And that will hurt her feelings. She was also afraid that I might see Shirdi Sai Baba only as a simple human being. She told me also that she go often to this Shirdi Sai Baba temple. She told me that I am like a gift for her, because it is her Shirdi Sai Baba who have search me as her life partner (husband). She told me also that Shirdi Sai Baba was on our marriage to give his blessings.
So because that my wife is a so big big devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba, that's why I was looking for more informations about Shirdi Sai Baba. I was surfing the Internet, and I saw this beautiful forum of Shirdi Sai Baba. I didn't even know that there was a forum of Shirdi Sai Baba. So thanks all Sai devotees for your replies and informations !

Next week I'm going to India. I will also visit Shirdi. My wife is very excited that I'm joining her to visit Shirdi. It's like a dream for her that comes true. I don't know why, but sometimes I also feel that Shirdi Sai Baba is calling me.
So, I will tell you all about my experience in Shirdi.

Dear broters and sisters,
Thanks for all your replies.
Since two weeks I'm in India. This week I wanted to visit Shirdi. But because of BIRD FLU problem in Maharastra, I am still in New Delhi. I don't know what to do. Can you all Sai baba devotees give me some advice?
In the last two week I have been three times in the Sai Baba temple in Ghaziabad. And last saturday I was in the Sai Baba temple in Delhi (Lodi Road). I have decided that when I will leave India after a couple of weeks, first I will do a BHANDARA on a THURSDAY in the Sai Baba temple of Ghaziabad.

Dear Akshay,

My name is Anjali.  Although of Indian origin I am now living in Puttaparthy with Sai Baba and my husband since 1998.

My husband is of irish origin.

We both visited Shirdi back in 1998.

Our advice to you is don't worry about the bird flu.  Go in good faith to Shirdi.

Things are not always as they seem.  Here is a site that will give you a very different perspective on the bird flu.  Millions beleive and know it to be a hoax with more political motives than anything else.  It may be shocking but bare with it, the Govt's are not always what they seem http://s13.invisionfree.com/THE_UNHIVED_MIND/index.php?showforum=30.

Since we have been with Sai Baba he has been teaching us many thing internally by guiding us in dreams etc and has been revealing many things to us that we had previously taken for granted. So easily done when growing up in the west, having the best "so called" education, and the arrogance of the west being more advanced, but only in matter not in spirirt.

Our Givt has let us done in so many ways that now it is important not to take them for granted in any way.

It seems that Shirdi wants to open more doors for you then conventional ones that we are used to in the West.

Hope this all helps. Best of luck. I hope you're able to make the right decision.

Your friend Anjali

Hi Akshay,

Happy Shivratri.  Sorry I forgot to mention this in my last post. It surely is a special day, and although I am not in the habit of giving advice but today the spirit just bursts forth, I hope you will forgive me.

Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthy has Himself said and proved to many devotees of the old Shirdi Sai Baba that He is the same as Shirdi baba.  That the same Shirdi Baba has incarnated today in another body namely Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthy. It is very legnthy to write about this all now, but these facts have all been well recorded in his books.

Hence this is unrefuted fact in Puttaparthy and many millions enjoy the living darshan of Shirdi Sai baba in Puttaparthy in his reincarnated form of Satya Sai Baba.

I personally speak of experience to you, I am a very difficult person to convince of anything, and it has taken alot of digging for me to realise the above for me to live here permanently and forsake the luxuries of the West for eg.

If you are still uncomfortable to visit Shirdi, then come to Puttaparthy in the Andhra Pradesh instead and have His living darshan.  There are many foreigners here and you will be in good company and be able to find many people who you can converse with freely  who are also from the West, who have started out with similar cirumstances as yourself.

There is no bird flu scare here.

Satya Sai Baba (Puttaparthy) is a living God and I beleive that all should have His darshan whilst He is still on the planet with us. It's the greatest opportunity available to us all today.

It is only His will that will bring you here, but of course if you have the inclination/desire then it may help the process.

My husband and I would be glad to meet your aquaintance here and we may be able to share some commonalities given our similar backgrounds and marriages etc.

Much loving thoughts ........

Anjali

Dear brothers and sisters,

Now, I am back in The Netherlands. When I was in India I couldn't go to Shirdi because of Bird Flu. So that's why I and my wife change our plan and we went to Vaishno Devi to take a darshan of Devi mata. That was a nice experience. Last week when I was back in New Delhi, I and my wife went again to the Shirdi Sai Baba temple on Lodi Road. And last thursday (16 March), I and my wife did a bhandara on the Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Ghaziabad. So may be, that was the will of Shirdi Sai Baba that I and my wife first had to go to Vaishno Devi. I hope that Shirdi Sai Baba will call me and my wife soon to Shirdi.

That was a very nice experience. It was the first time in my life that I went on a Tirath Yatra. My sister-in-law says that I was blessed more than a thousand time that I was able to take a darshan of Vaishno Devi. It was very nice to see so many devotees singing and climbing the mountain of Vaishno Devi. For me, it was like a dream that comes true. It was something that I will never forget in my (whole) life. Some people in India told me that there are many new married couples who go first to Vaishno Devi before they started there (new) life. So, may be it was the will of Matarani that I and my wife went first to Vaishno Devi. We (I and my wife) hope that Shirdi Sai Baba will call us also very soon.
