is fasting mandatory

Dear Devotees.

Can anyone tell me the procedure to do one week sai parayanam.

I got some infoprmation in this forum, while reading sai parayanam, we should eat only one time and shud be on fast and sleep on floor.

on last day, we shud be on complete fast and shud eat only after offering to a beggar or one who cannot afford to eat.

But my doubt is , is doing fasting while reading is mandatory. Hope all u might have already read the parayanam. In that sai clearly told not to do any fasting .When a women came to meet baba on fast , he scolded that lady and asked her to have stomach full..

now please tell me , what to follow. I need to do parayanam in coming days .Please help me

Fasting is not at all necessary. What is required is loving devotion to Sai baba (Lord). Just as the mother bird thinks about her young ones in the nest when she is flying in the sky or just as the cow thinks about her calf, when she is grazing in the field...
It is just like that. if a devotee can similarly think about Sai baba (with love), wherever he is, he is a best devotee. He is certainly the receipient of the grace of Sai baba.
