Shirdi Sai Chitra Yatra, Sai's Experience

Shirdi Sai picture was brought to my house on Sunday, August 11 2002.

We started our prayer on Sunday with Sathyanarayana pooja and started reading the Shirdi Sai Satcharita and all other prayers that we do daily.

The next day also we did the same.

On Tuesday, we got a call from India at around 5-5.30a.m. that my father-in-law was very sick and he is hospitalised in Cochin.

We did our prayers in the morning and then called our travel agent to try for a ticket for my husband to go to India.

We came back from India just two weeks ago.

That day I went to work very late.

My husband called me at work many times to find out when I will be home.

So I decided to come in the afternoon.

I called my friend 's mom from my cell phone and told her about the bad news from India.

When I reached home my friend Sabitha's husband was already home.

We talked for a while and then the travel agent came to give the confermation paper.

After they left, I went to the kitchen to warm up the food.

My husband came to the kitchen and told me about the dream he had in the morning.

He told me that he has seen Shirdi Baba in his dream, the same picture but he was looking at me.

My husband was not sure whether Baba was looking at him.

So he turned and looked behind him and to both sides.

Baba was still looking at him.

My husband turned back and looked again.

The third time he did not see Baba's face but he saw his father's face.

He then woke up and sat on the bed.

I remember him waking up and when he saw me turning to other side he thought he is going to wake me up and went back to bed.

After about half an hour the telephone rang and it was the call from India to inform us that my father-in-law was very ill and the doctors in India told the family to inform everyone, and he was on respiratory machines as he was not able to breathe on his own.

When he mentioned to me about the dream I told him that Sai Baba is telling you not to worry about anything and everything will be ok.

My husband went to India that evening.

It was my youngest son's birthday that day.

We sang for him and then my husband left for the airport.

He called me couple of times from the airport.

His two sisters also travelled with him from L.A.

The next morning I got up at 5.30 to do my prayers, and I was sad that I have to do my prayers without my husband, and I prayed to Sai to give me a sign for me to know that everything will be ok.

I lit the lamp and started chanting my prayers.

I was done with my prayers around 6.15-6.20.

I did the arathi at the end and as I was doing the arathi I saw something on the right side of Sai's hand.

I thought it was spider web. It was like a string.

I touched it and then I saw lots of wet spots on the picture.

It looked like rain drops.

The spot that I touched was sticky so I tasted and then I knew it
was "amrutha" the sweet nector.

It was Sai's way of telling me that everything will be ok.

After the arathi I called my house back home and told my parents about the incident.

They were very happy for me and speechless. My father then told me that my father in law was doing better and the doctors have taken the respiratory machine off.

Then I knew Sai was giving me a sign saying that it will be ok.

My husband called me from Singapore the next day , and I told him about what has happened. He was speechless.

I thank my friend and his family for giving me this opportunity.

May Sai's blessings be there always for everyone of us.

Sai Ram, Geetha

DEVOTEE'S EXPERIENCE

Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi, my Lord and Master, my God, my Friend and my Confidante. What can I write about him when I exist because of his Kripa?

The year was 1999 and we had just moved into Delhi. My wife Anu developed a large tumour on her back. We consulted many doctors. The unanimous decision was that an operation was needed and a Biopsy will be required to decide malignancy. Malignant is a malignant word. We got really scared. My wife has been always been scared of the scalpel. She lost her father at the very young age of 11 years and ever since has regarded Shirdi Sai has her father. So she kept putting off the operation on one pretext or the other, saying - Baba will cure me, etc. The growth meanwhile became the size of a fist and was painful to touch.

One day during the Morning Prayer I asked Baba to spare Anu the operation and said that I would donate the money saved by not having to undergo the operation as building material for Baba’s temple in Sadhaura (a small hamlet near Jagadhari) where some construction was required. Doctors had given us an estimate of Rs. 12 to 15 thousand). Why Sadhaura is another story - some other time.

A week passed and then suddenly a doctor friend of mine whom we had been consulting telephoned me that his elder brother - a renowned surgeon from Lucknow was going to be in town to operate upon his sister-in-law and maybe we would like to seek his opinion in the matter. When we reached the hospital on the designated day the surgeon from Lucknow was operating in the O.T. Soon he came out and my friend told him about Anu's problem. The surgeon told Anu to step into the O.T. so that he could examine her. I waited outside and after 20 minutes or so Anu walked out and told me that she had been operated upon - a sample taken for Biopsy and sent to the lab and we were free to go home! Anu was of course in pain and completely bewildered. When I enquired about the charges, I was told there was no charge because friends do not charge each other! We just could not believe it.

In Delhi where a doctor could charge you even if you asked him the directions to his clinic an operation had been performed without charge! This was a gesture unheard of. We were completely dumbstruck by Baba’s Leela. The right way to get rid of the tumour apparently was an operation, whether Anu liked it or not. Keeping Anu’s fears in mind however the operation had been carried out without any fuss, almost as you would pull out a child’s loose tooth by diverting the child’s attention while saying, let me see... let me see…..and then khat ...it comes out. To top it all no charge because the money thus saved would have better use in a temple situated 200 kms away. This was Sai leela and its fantastic execution to the minutest detail. But then these are small things for my Sarkar, $ainath of Shirdi. And this was not the end. There was more to follow!!

I remembered my prayer and my promise and pledged to complete it soonest. In fact I even called up Shri Navneet Sharma the caretaker and Panditji of Baba’s mandir at Sadhaura and promised him that I will be soon organizing some construction material for the temple. Incidentally this is a small temple standing on pillars in the middle of a pond and some of the structures needed reinforcement and hence the need for cement, iron girders etc.

Time passed and I got busy and kept postponing the promised visit to Sadhaura. After about 6 months as good luck would have it my friend Sanjeev Gupta was going to Shirdi and on the spur of the moment he asked me to join him. So without any program or reservation, off I went see my Sarkar. Summons from the Chief, I thought. We reached Shirdi very comfortably and had nice Darshan. Next day Sanjeev told me about a fine temple of Baba near Kopargaon constructed by Shri Chavan Baba who was himself spiritually a very realized person and was known to our Shri Satpathyji. The meeting with Chavan Baba also known as Dhondi Baba was very eventful. Dhondi Baba seemed to know all about us without our even opening our mouths. We were humbled and moved. Dhondi Baba then suddenly looked at me and said “Rajeev Sahib ek aadmi Dilli se aya tha; usney bola tha ki wo cement aur sariya bhejega. Maloom nathi baad mein nahi aaya” (Rajeev Sahib, one fellow from Delhi had promised 'to send cement and iron girders; did not show up after that). I listened to him, made some sympathetic noises; touched his feet took prasad and came back to Shirdi. While attending the shej aarti the same night, suddenly what Dhondi Baba, had said came to my mind “Dilli se ek aadmi aaya tha...” and I realized the importance of that sentence and realized that woh admi mein hi hun. I felt like a worm, but at the same time I also felt elated that Baba had spoken to me and had gently reminded to do as I had promised. It was again a confirmation (if ever needed) of how forgiving and kind my Sadguru is. After the aarti I shared this with Sanjeev Gupta, my friend who was with me. He too was flabbergasted and gave me his quota of gallis.

Duly chastened, I returned to Delhi and the day after made a plan to go to Sadhaura. Sanjeev, wanting to see the culmination of this Sai leela, joined me.

It is a four-hour drive to Sadhaura from Delhi and we reached around 11 am.

Together with Shri Navneet Sharmaji we proceeded to the hardware shop. I had carried with me Rs. 15000/- as per my promise with Baba. We bought bricks, cement, iron girders, and paid for everything - a total of Rs. 14,850!

We decided then to spend time in the mandir while the goods came in. I had paid for the goods and now felt relieved. Of the fifteen thousand, only Rs. 150 was left. I was happy that my estimate had been right and that we had not run short of money. Just then a bullock cart walla, who had brought sand came to us and said that he had not been paid. Sanjeev and I looked at each other and even though we could guess the answer. I asked him “how much?” “Rs. 150, sahib” of course was the answer!! My Sadguru had even done my accounting for me.

Sanjeev and I were stunned. So was Shri Navneetji. There was complete silence accompanied by tears of gratitude.

Slowly we started back for Delhi with our hearts filled in love and gratitude for Baba Sai the Param Sadguru.

Rajeev Dar, Delhi

Experience of the week : AK

Sai saved me from the jaws of death. I was once trapped in a terrible situation with no escape. I was facing poverty and starvation. Then, I got a miraculous opportunity to escape to another place. (I am leaving out specific details due to security reasons) Once I was at this other place, I visited the house of my friend who happened to be staying there. After we chatted for a while, he said come with me. I asked where, he said just come. He took me to a room and it was a Sai temple. I think this was more than just co-incidence. Now I am doing very well at the new place I escaped to. Sai has given me a new life.

According to Sai Satcharitra, nothing is co-incidence. Things happen due to some reason, either a debt from a past action in a past life or something else. One must have compassion towards all creatures and not just follow only one's own greed.

Bow to Shri Sainath - Peace be with all

I was praying to DEVA,SAI BABA JEE, that i want to see him, i am unlucky that i was not there, (SHIRDI) when you my Deva, used to sit in Dwarkamai. I cried and cried, no Baba jee in my dream. Finally, I requested Shama, as you all know, Baba jee never said no to him. I requested Shama ( I call him my BABA too because he is very close to my Satguru Sai Nath jee.) Please ask Baba jee to forgive me and bring HIM in my dream.

Well, the great night of my life came, I saw our Deva and Shama Baba was with him. I did not know, who Shama Baba look like. Second day, I was looking at photos of Sai Baba jee's favourite devotees. Oh my Deva! Shama Baba was one of them. Next time, I will share one more. I am crying for my Deva, Shri Sai Nath jee, day and night. I am living in United States, but my soul is at the entrance of Dwarkamai. One day Baba will call me.

JAI SAI RAM!

Vijaya Nair

Once I was returning from Shirdi after the darshan (audience) in a shared taxi to Manmad station
to board the train for Nagpur. Total six persons were there including the driver.

I was at the rear seat along with an old couple. I kept a carry bag and my purse containing so many things including my return ticket and cash near my feet. The water bottle was on my lap.

When I got down at the station, I picked up my small suitcase, the carry bag and water bottle but totally forgot to pick up my purse, kept near my feet. I sat in the waiting hall.

There was still half an hour for the train to come. Why not buy a magazine to kill the time, thinking I went to the bookstall. I selected a magazine and when I wanted to pay, I remembered that I had left my purse in the taxi itself and I did not even remember the taxi number.

Oh, Baba, help me, I prayed and ran from there to the taxi stand. The taxi drivers saw me rushing towards them in panic so all of them came to me and asked what had happened.

I told them about my purse. One of them said that he saw me got down from a taxi and that taxi was parked at the corner of the parking place. We all went there.

The taxi driver was about to start the vehicle, as he got a booking. When he saw me, he came out of the taxi and asked me what the matter was. Before I could open up my mouth all the drivers said that please check at your rear seat, madam had left her purse there.

He put the lights on and looked inside. My purse was lying under the seat. He than said, madam, you are lucky. Had you been late by a minute, I would have gone and perhaps, you could not have traced me.

I thanked him and rushed to the platform.

Padma
Recently, we went on a holiday trip. But before going, I had bad dreams and I was scared.

I prayed Baba to look after us, take care of us and be with us all the time.

I also promised Baba that I would write the experience once I come back.

Sai Baba was with me all the time during the trip.

Once I reached the destination, my cousin played Saibaba's songs in the car, I felt happy because

Baba is telling me that he is with me.

Later my cousin asked me if I wanted to visit Sai Baba temple, I gladly agreed to visit His temple,

but Baba did not allow until Thursday. So it was Thursday morning we got a chance to visit Baba's

temple. When we went there arathi was going on. I had a desire to attend arathi and now it was

fulfilled. In the temple, there were two lady devotees. One lady told me that she was about to

close the temple but again she thought of doing arathi second time. She told us that it is Sai

Baba's leela, Baba made her to wait because we are coming. I felt very happy, it shows that Baba

is taking care of us. I would have been disappointed if I could not visit Baba that day, since we

have to come back that day. Also, on that Thursday morning I had a dream in which Baba was

applying Udi on me and saying that I will be all right. When we went for sightseeing, I saw a tall

building with big letters "Sai" on it. Only Sai and no other letters. I really felt very happy again.

Sai baba showed that He is with us wherever we go. We had a safe and pleasant trip and I thank

Shri Shirdi Sai Baba for all that he has given me and continue to shower His blessings on all of us.

Hema

Baba, I thank you very much for listening to my prayers and helping me in every aspect of my life. As I promised, I am writing a miracle that happened recently. We went to a builder to build a house and he showed the site plan. We liked one lot among the available ones but we were not sure to reserve it right away. So, we called them again after three days and it was taken by someone. I was so disappointed and I did not like any other lots. But I prayed to Baba and asked him if it is good for us please make it available. Then after two weeks the builder called and said that the lot is now available.

I felt so happy and I know it is because of Baba's grace.
