  • Who is my mom

Breaking the shell open with its tiny beak, the cshick come out of the egg.  She was a bit dazed by the wide open new world around her.

Chick………..Chick………….Chick” sound came out of her throat instantly.  It took sometime for the new born chicken to get adjusted to the light and sounds of her surroundings.  Then she felt very lovely.  She could not find anybody of her likeness.  Instinctvely,  She started thinking of her mother.  Where was my mom ?

The tiny chicken had no clue as to who her mother was where was she ?  How was she like ?  She thought anxiously.  I must go and find her, she decided at last and set out in search of her mother.

The tiny chicken came across a grazing Cow after some time.  She was wonder-struck by the bulk and height of the Cow.

The cow  noticed the cute little chicken staring wonderously at her.  What do you want my little chick ?  asked the Cow tenderly.

The tiny chicken asked hesitantly, Are you my mom ?  The Cow pitied her innocence.  Look……….see how big and tall lam.  Yourmother is not like me.  She resembles you…………She will have two legs and two wings too.

The tiny chicken started searching again.  After some time she heard a strange sound “Kaw………Kaw”.

Started she looked around and saw a crow sitting on a branch of tree making the strange sound.  The chicken also observed that the crow was having two legs and two wings.

Sh looked up and asked in a sweet voice, you have two legs and two wings……….Are you my mother.

The crow looked down and saw the tiny bird.  She laughed and said, No doubt I have two legs and two wings.  But lam not your mother.  I can fly higher than your mother, but your mother looks bigger then me.  More over she can’t fly like me.  One more thing is, Your mother’s legs are lengthier……….

After listening to the Crow, the tiny chick felt very sad and discouraged.  The crow felt sorf of compassion for the tiny bird.

Look my dear tiny chick ! Don’t get disheartened.  Go ahead and try.  You will surely find your mother……….. Consoled the Crow.

The chicken went forward with new hope and more information.  On the bandk of a water tank she saw a duck making a quak, quak sound………..The chicken felt elated, for she sure that the duck must be her mother.  She recollected everything said about her mother and felt sure that the duck in all respects resembling her mother.  She ran towards her and stopped a feet away.  The duck looked at her without any emotion.

The chicken was a bit doubtful,  Mommy……….I am your child.  Why are you looking at me like that?

The Duck could not understand the predicament of the chick. She said, lam not your mommy……….Don’t you know ?

The tiny chicken had overcome with sorrow and loneliness.  She started weeping.  She felt sure that she could never find her mother.

The Duck felt sorry for the kid.  She asked consolingly, why are you crying so much ?  What happened ?

The tiny chicken narrated all that had happened so far.  After hearing her the duck gave her some advise.

You see……….Your mother wouldn’t sound quak, quak ! When she opens her throat it will sound Kockaroko….Or Koco….Koco……….

A Dove on the nearby tree was listening to their conversation.  It come near them and listened to the story of the chick once again.

The Dove wanted to help the tiny bird.  So it said, Go to the other side of the tand bund, you may find your mother ther “showing the direction.”

The tiny chick ran to the other side of the tank bund.  While nearing the edge she heard the sound Koco……….Koco……….and saw in that direcstion.  There she saw a big chicken with two longlegs, two wings and colorful body coat pecking the earth for food………..the tiny bird was sure that she found her mother at last.  She felt elated.  She ran to the big Chicken………..

Mommy………..Mommmy………..Here lam youd kid…………Chick……….chick…. The big chickend looked up and recognized her kid……….She lifted her head and cried,  “Kockorokco…….”  With joy, calling the kid to come near her.
