In a village long ago, used to live two fast friends named Rahim and Karim. They were very fast, in the sense very fast, they used to obey each other and were staying as neighbors from their childhood, got married, had children and life was going peacefully.
They had a desire to go to Makka , so they started saving money from their starting age itself since there economical condition was not too good. When after few years they had enough money, they decided to go to pilgrimage. The moment they had to start, a person from the same village approached them and said that in neighbor village most of the people are suffering from cholera, and people are dying without treatment, b’cos they don’t have sufficient money and enough volunteers to look after them and bringing doctors from the city. I know that you have been collecting this amount from long time for your pilgrimage, though I m suggesting u to invest this amount for the people suffering in our neighbor village. After saying this he went away to the neighbor village to take care of people.
Karim told Rahim that after great difficulty we accumulated this amount, let’s go for pilgrimage, else don’t know how longer our life is, again we will get chance or not, let’s go , after coming if money is left we will help our neighbor village. Rahim replied, we can go to pilgrimage next time, we will work hard and earn the same amount in few months only. Karim was not at all agreeing to Rahim this time. Then, Rahim told, Karim Bhaiya, I m really sorry this time to differ from u, I won’t come with u, u go alone, my soul is not at all agreeing to go to pilgrimage leaving those people dying.
Karim went on pilgrimage and Rahim with some of the volunteers started doing service to the patients day and night. At the same time, he was doing his own work too. Soon after some days, people started recovering from disease. Villagers were very happy with Rahim and they were talking about Rahim most of the times.
Karim returned from pilgrimage and rushed to Rahim’s house. Rahim’s wife told that after coming from his work he went to the neighbor village. Karim by running went to that village and met Rahim there. He told Rahim, with anger , which type of friend u are, why did u lie to me. U had told me that u won’t go to Makka, but u came there and were sitting in the very first row and reading Namaz. And see how cunning u are, after prayer also, u didn’t come to meet me, I waited there for u for long time. Karim was like burning with anger.
Then, Rahim said patiently, Bhaiya, cool down, I really didn’t go there, u can ask these people, I m here with them. People over there said the same thing. Then Karim asked, but how come I saw u there reading Namaz?
?? They both looked at each other and started shedding tears, but Karim’s tears was different than that of Rahim’s. The secret was revealed now……………………………………………………………………
